🤦🏽‍♂️ We’re in for a long season if Dennis Allen wants to play this style of defense with Janoris as our number 2. He did well last year but he’s been exposed.
I didn’t expect to win this game but we had a chance if it weren’t for our defense and the refs.

Don’t blame Payton for a bad read and fumble by Taysom Hill, especially when so many people are saying stick with the run.

Payton’s play calling was pretty good with a few exceptions.

our defense looks in trouble. And I know people have been saying all week that it happens every year but there’s too many red flags (and yellow flags) and our schedule does not let up.

Me expectations for the year are way down now. Dennis Allen can’t hang with the top offenses we face. KC, ATL, Detroit,
LAC.

I’m glad the offense was able to score well enough to win a lot of games. And Brees looked decent on some nice passes beyond 5 yards.

When CGM gets back we’ll be even better and the other guys will get more open.

Every Allen DB is exposed and they all have the same problems. Maybe it’s not the players and it’s allen

I always get nervous when the Saints are almost a consensus pick for the NFC rep in the Super Bowl. The Saints are masters of buying their own hype and laying an egg. It’s frustrating that the Saints under Sean Payton appear to be either 13-3 or a 7-9 horror show. There’s no in between with them.

This defense can't even shutdown a covid restricted hotdog stand in the french quarter right now. The players better call a player meeting and have a heart to heart and sort whatever it is that is going on with them. They need to carry this team this year.

If every good corner back comes in here and gets "exposed", maybe the problem lies with someone other than them. Its just too coincidental.

CSP seemed pretty pissed at DA in his post-game presser. He was asked why we have trouble defending the bootleg. He said something along the lines of "it shouldn't be hard. But we sure make it look that way." Then he gave this really strong look to his left. He wasn't happy.

To me it's scheme and coaching for the Defense right now.

Do they know the TE is an eligible receiver? Cause it looks like they don't know the TE can go out for routes cause for two straight weeks they have yet to cover a TE.
Like it's basic football. I got that guy and you get that guy. Is it really that hard?

I will say the ONE time we cover the TE well they don't call obvious offensive PI of Lewis. Jenkins had him completely covered and Lewis created separation by pushing off! You know it's bad when Mr. Positivity Mike Tirico is saying it should have been a flag. Sheesh.....

If a team throws bombs after bombs on your defense.. they have no respect for your DBs. Our CBs are too handsy, and our safeties (Williams) have no discipline.
I disagree about Williams. That PI call was bogus in my opinion. Williams has definitely played decent.

Vaccaro ballin, Hicks ballin , Bell ballin. Everyone we get rid of starts ballin. Payton should have promoted Nolan to DC and fired Allen and Glenn last year. Its like the Bill Johnson Greg McMahon Joe Vitt thing again with Payton. He is too loyal to losers while real talent is out there waiting for an opportunity. Allen and Glenn are losers straight up. They are both coaches who need to be demoted or fired. Wasting talent every year while they keep on giving us a 22nd-30th ranked secondary. Like I heard someone say yesterday, Payton needs to nut up and clean house on the defensive side of the ball. Start with Glenn, then immediately follow that by actively going out for someone who is a motivator. We need a DC that will light his players up on the sidelines. Allen ain't it. Allen ain't it! Allen isn't going to help us reach a SB. Every chance he's had, he's blown it. Straight up.

The PI was a terrible call (non-catchable)... I agree with that. One big play that Williams did allow was that deep post on 3rd down. Everybody wants to blame PJ Williams, but in quarters coverage if you're the deep safety you have to stay deep... you can't jump a shorter route and leave that deep route open. Its inexcusable. And that' not the first time he bit a short route and hung his fellow DB out to dry.
