Well, well, well, this could really open up the draft. I still think they need an infusion of young WR talent, especially some with speed, but if they sign Landry, they could get one in the 2nd and one later to develop without the pressure of having to start right away.

Couldn't have been that these vet WRs priced themselves way too high and the Saints were waiting for them to come back down to earth.

I am not going to get too excited, but it is really good to see at least we are kicking the tires and hoping we can accomodate his salary demands. IF we can get him under contract it does really open up the 1st and 2nd rounds of the draft to fill other needs, while still going after one of the WR's in this great class for WR's!

If Landry signs, I’m thinking it is something like one year, $10 million, so that he can try again in free agency next year. I can’t see how it would be a long term deal with our cap situation.

Scenario 1. Saints sign Landry and BPA is a WR…you draft the WR

Scenario 2. Saints sign Landry and BPA is an OT…you draft the OT.

Scenario 3. Saints don’t sign Landry and BPA is a WR…you draft the WR

Scenario 4. Saints don’t sign Landry and BPA is an OT…you draft the OT.
