Jarvis Landry visiting Saints tomorrow (4 Viewers)

Nick thinks that the guys who will be available at OT at 16 would be reaches in the first round. Specifically, he thinks that the top 4 will be gone leaving only Raimann who he thinks has a 2nd round grade. So, if the Saints feel they need a LT, they will need to trade up to get a guy like Cross. So, he is assuming OT will not be the BPA at 16 or 19.

He does think that WR could very well be BPA at 16 and that BPA is the best strategy if you fill holes in free agency. He's just pointing out that if the Saints feel like they have to get a starting LT in this draft, they are really going to have to trade up to get one. But, if they don't add a WR before the draft they are going to have to stay at 16 and 19 to get a 1st round WR.

Basically, he thinks that signing Landry would open up the draft for them and allow them to take BPA at 16 and 19, or move up for LT like Cross depending on if they think they have to get a starting LT.
Trading up for a LT…wow. Trading two 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd for a LT unlikely to be as good as what we had last year. Uff da. It’d be like Hendrickson for Turner, but worse.

He's not saying they would trade 16 and 19. Mostly likely 49 and 16 to move up to around 10. That's really not a terrible price if they think the LT they are targeting can be their starting LT for the next 10 years. And Nick isn't predicting they will do that. He's just saying that IF they think they have to get a starting LT in this draft, they will need to move up to get one and that signing Landry would give them the flexibility to use 16 and 49 to go up for a LT.

Personally, I'd rather stay put and get a guy in the 2nd or 3rd that can develop under Hurst who I think is solid. But, if the Saints think that Hurst can't do the job I could understand moving up with 16 and 49. I could not understand moving up with 16 an 19.

I guess it depends who is there at 10th. Saints needs QBs to go top ten.

Yep. It all depends on how the board is falling. It would really help if Willis and Picket go top 10 and another strange pick is made too. If a guy like Cross falls to say 11 or 12 it would not be too expensive to move up a few spots to get him.

Landry is a slot receiver , nothing more. However he is very very good at it! Having him and Mike would make 3rd downs hard for opposing teams BUT WE STILL have no speed……..

If this is the signing over Sanders we still need to Draft WR in the first we need a Real deep threat

Good. We need the help. Can’t count on the draft to fill needs. This is how we usually operate. I like it.

If we can get Jarvis I’d think we still target a speed WR in the draft…. But we wouldn’t have to reach. And it wouldn’t have to be in the 1st.

Make it happen

Yep.
Eric Martin was slow. Colston was slow. It’s not the end all be all. Hell the greatest WR of all time was slow as heck…..

And I have a feeling, this time we will land the free agent. Just have a hunch. 😊

Jerry? MVS finest ?

Naw, football "fast" & he had a hella second gear and was rarely caught from behind in the open.

Martin and Colston where faster than Landry.

Colston ran a 4.54.. Treylon Burks is a 4.55. Colston was a 6'4" 4.5 WR. Which is impressive and very much game breaking.

Landry was 4.77 at 5'11.

He did do much better at his proday... But most players usually do. Landry been dealing with a lot of injuries as late.

But any WR you get at this point will. Landry is a better value than a TY Hilton simply because of age.

We just need him to be a bandaid and run good routes to get the rookie flanker up to speed.

Trading up for Cross would be a pretty realistic Saints 1st round move.

It would and I can guarantee you Saints brass values LT over WR much to fans dismay

Personally I would rather stay put and take WR and a OT if he falls, but what I want and what the Saints do on draft day are never aligned lol
