Jazz Fest 2022 (2 Viewers)

I'm not one to spend that much, but, I dunno, that's my dream venue. And with Stevie Nicks? I dunno, somehow that sounds much better to me than the 80 at the dang Jazz Fest.

Yeah i grappled a bit...my sister was in music industry ( still kinda is/she played Red Rocks - hubby is a drummer and has a "fantasy rock camp" ) and she tried a few calls to no avail.

She then proceeded to tell me ALL ABOUT Ticketmaster for the next 45 min.

They are indeed a scourge.

But between decent seating at $500 pop, airfare etc - it was going to be $1500 or so for her to see Stevie Nicks who woulda been right here 4 days earlier for 1/100 of the cost lol.

Water is $3 ($1 outside the gates).

I didn't go anywhere near RHCP. No crawfish bread for me, but the Cochon du lait was quite good.

That was a tasty treat
i was being a bit facetious about the food- $7-8 for some crawfish pasta aint terribly bad. I dont drink beer, so save a ton there. Water was my only worry due to forecast, but knowing i can bring own is good to know.
I think it just has to be in a sealed bottle…

i gotta go Sat to see Stevie Nicks - who coincidentally hasnt released a SONG IN 40 YEARS - but my oldest is a massive fan and Red Rocks in Denver wants $500 a TICKET ( may 11 show )

So cause I was curious, I looked it up - and her last studio album was 2011. It went to #6 on the charts. What?? No recollection of that whatsoever but also I guess we're not her target audience.

Last time I went it wasn't the price of the water that was the issue, it was the length of the lines you had to stand in to get the water. Have they figured out how to actually make it possible to get water in a reasonable amount of time?

Cochon du lait was pretty much so the main reason I went to Jazz Fest for many years. Unless you are willing to get there early and set up near a stage, and I'm not, it's hard to hear or really see bands other than in the small tents which get crowded later in the day.

Basically, Jazz Fest, like most other things would be so much better without all the other people being there.

we never really had to wait in line for anything

Then either you were lucky or they fixed the issue. I don't recall much in the way of lines for food, but my recollection is they were selling water the same places they sold beer so you had to wait in the long beer lines to get water. But, maybe they have fixed that issue too.

Maybe wear stilts so the people behind the counter can see you

There are a few water-only stands now.

The biggest lines were actually for the ATMs. Surprise! You need actual money at jazzfest!

Cool. I might go again one day if I can find a band I want to see that won't be insanely crowded.
