Jets goal is to keep Glenn from leaving the building [Multiple HC & GM Candidates tells ESPN’s Cimini all indications point to Glenn] (3 Viewers)

If he’s using us for leverage that will take it away.
Haha if you think that was ever going to be an effective move that benefits the Saints in any way, I am only able to disappoint you.

The Jets are hiring Glenn regardless, but if the team still wanted any chance at signing him, cancelling a meeting out of petulance would achieve nothing that aids the New Orleans Saints.

It keeps him from using us to get more money from the Jets. I don’t want him so in my opinion it also benefits the Saints.

All these other stories about teams having plans for package deals and building staffs strategically. I haven’t heard a thing about the Saints other than a list of names.

We’d better have a plan beyond just hiring the best remaining name.
Don’t worry, Mickey will not hire the best remaining name.

Feels like Rizzi is starting to gain steam.

Keeping him from using us to get more money from the Jets gives the Saints zero benefit. It's just petulant. It will also make it easier for the Jets to sign Glenn, while also creating an unnecessary poor relationship with Glenn, which is detrimental to the Saints in the long term.

So again, apart from indulging some petulance, there's zero benefit to cancelling an interview.

What benefit do we get from allowing it? The agent continues to do it to us with future clients?

We avoid the negative effects I already outlined.

Time to accept the fact - we can get used for leverage like this, because we're in the position of needing a head coach.

That's not Glenn's fault. And the agent is just doing their job.

You don't have to like it, of course. I don't. But your solution is not a solution.

If this is the case then it looks like Glenn to the Jets is pretty much a done deal.
Yeah, I suspect that they will announce it later today and McCarthy to the Saints will happen as soon as he is able to get into New Orleans.
