Jets have requested to interview Darren Rizzi (3 Viewers)

Wow 😳 can't get any worse than that... unfortunately. I didn't know anything about Kubiak before this year. If he has had this problem with his prior teams then that is really horrible. Adjusting in game and especially at halftime should be a given but he struggled in more games than he didn't.

I still would have liked to see how he would have done with even just half of the injuries we have had. Bottom line is he had a bad year but I wouldn't be disappointed if the new coach keeps him for another year.

I'm not putting it all on Kubiak. If you look at the last 2 games, I don't think they lost because of Kubiak or Rattler. In the 2nd half of those games, the receivers suddenly couldn't catch a pass that hit them in the hands, they committed more stupid penalties. I think both MSV and Pettis were both less that 50% in the Bucs game. I think Rattler only had 2 incompletions in the first half if I remember right, which means most of those came in the 2nd half.

And it's not limited to the offense. On the play where Mike Evans set the record, the play call was to double him, but the defense didn't. Honey Badger should have known that play was coming, DD should have known. The veterans should have made sure that they were on the same page. They didn't. It's like they went into the locker room, and all got high or something. Maybe it's a fitness thing? I don't know. But just blaming Kubiak is the easy answer, though he was certainly at least part of it.

Very good points. The receivers we have had for most of the year were the bottom of our barrel which is not a good thing. They are also paid to play a sport and do a job and they as a group have let us down several times this season with the drops and generally just trying to hold on and do their best, but the overall talent wasn't there, and it showed bigtime.

Even with the leadership on defense they had some hard times just like the last play to Evans that you described, and we all saw the lackluster efforts they put in towards Allen's exit. Both sides of the ball have failed us this season, well really every area from coaching to special teams has had massive cave ins and brain farts.

Kubiak had some issues adjusting but I thought he did well enough to warrant another run at it. I wouldn't want to have to try and come up with a game plan and then lose 4 players by midweek and try to adjust again. You could see in some games where he wanted to establish the run and it didn't happen and when you are depleted along the offensive line and you are dealing with a rookie QB and no Taysom, Olave and Shaheed that's earning your money and it is part of the job but some things do need to be looked at in a case by case and each individual needs to be looked at and reevaluated. Kubiak shares some blame, but he is far from the reason as to why we were so bad on offense.

Rick Venturi survived two coaching changes in New Orleans after being the interim HC when Mora resigned, and got promoted all the way back up along the way…

Sometimes bad things keep happening.
Sometimes they do... Rick was a cat he definitely had 9 lives and then some. Thanks for pointing that out, I forgot about Venturi now that's a blast from the past.

That's how I feel too.
