Job Satisfaction (6 Viewers)

I have worked for 7 companies including my own.

I have worked at huge corporations and small companies.

I have worked in 23 states, been to 49 and lived (1 year min stay) in 18.

I used to develop and PM design-
build breweries. I built one in Hawaii. I got to mess with robots, cranes of every type, and build some of the biggest buildings in the world.

I get paid like a physician (pcp) and work from home. I fly all over the country and sometimes world and stay and eat on other people's dime.

I forking hate my job. And I think I am as happy as a person can be at work.

It isn't you. It's work and it's soul sucking.

I worked for the same company for 20 years... 8 in the field as a team member/lower management and 12 at the home office doing various roles in a Jack of all trades type of position. Accounting, Auditing, Data entry, Business Intel/data annalist, Network Admin. So jack of all trades/master of none, in other words very smart, yet still very stupid. Sitting at a desk all day was boring, but having everyone depending on me was fulfilling. That company sold and laid off everyone in the home office. 20 years down the drain out of no where. Now, I am back in the field with a different company leading my own team and so far that has been fulfilling. I still have a desk, but I don't have to sit at it all day.

lol... "the field"... I run a restaurant.

You may find it best to become an expat.

You pretty much stole my answer.. but then again, my answer has probably become fairly predictable by now .

CCS, if you are making , as you said ‘really good money’- then im guessing you have some sort of nest egg put away .. if it were me, i would consolidate whatever resources i had, sell whatever else i had- take it all and relocate to a country where your American dollars go 5-10 times as far as they do in America.. not saying youll never have to work again, but my guess is that would give you a couple of years to get settled in and figure it out.. find some remote work, or teach yoga like most of the other white girls do lol .. doesnt need to be Thailand, or Asia.. there is no perfect place, and thank god b/c if there were then everyone would be flocking there.. you live in CA, my understanding is that a huge portion of Californians are moving to Mexico.. maybe look at Belize, Costa Rica…. Italy, maybe not in one of the metros but more affordable countryside areas.. i dont have all the answers, but i do know what the answer is NOT- and that is America , where the whole setup is designed to keep us working as modern day slaves, starting when they promote credit cards to college kids- and then it never ends .
