Job Satisfaction (1 Viewer)

He's actually kind of absentee, leaves everyone to figure it out on there own (that's why there's no consistency between the different franchisee's).
kinda heard the same thing - like maybe there's a legacy business model that hasn't been updated in forever - jobs get subcontracted, but no one can agree what they're actually trying to produce but there's hell to pay if you get it wrong

17 chairs ? Jesus Christ .. ive been in the Dental industry for a long time, almost 20 yrs, in one position i worked almost exclusively with oral surgeons like ur brother.. that’s a big practice.. and he owns the building ?? Yeah that’s rare, and extremely successful .. kind of wild that he’s that unhappy while working around 14 days per month .. but i get it.. what’s interesting is that , while ive made only a fraction of the money your brother must be making- i have actually had jobs where, while not perfect- i actually enjoyed them and they weren’t soul sucking .. than again, i have also had jobs that were soul sucking.. i think it’s highly dependent on the company and your personal circumstances.. dentists though do have one of the highest suicide rates of any profession .

Yeah it’s way over the top.. i try not to complain here too much since i realize andrus does the best he can with what he has- but wow is the auto-correct/predictive text whatever on here beyond terrible.. sometimes the words it changes things to when i make a wrong keystroke is hilarious .. ive never seen anything like it .
He is good at what he does and he has a pretty good personality- which is the opposite of most dentists. He won Dentist of the Year in the "Best of" in the Gazette Telegraph a few years running

He also got incredibly lucky - when he was first starting as an Associate he worked for a women who owned his building and the practice - she owned medical practices all over, even though she wasn't a doc.

She also happened to be a Scientologist who was actively trying to reach Tom Cruise status.

She came to my bother one day and asked him to buy it from her because she needed cash so she could learn to time travel or whatever. At the time the practice was only 4 chairs and two technicians so he built if from that.

The building used to have 8 medical offices. He merged three of the offices (two on the first floor two on the second) with his to make his practice and put the OR and extra chairs on the second floor.

Talk me off the ledge, y'all. I am ready to quit with nothing lined up. I forkin' hate this place.

I'm going to do the opposite. Jump.

Maybe -- how long can you go without a job? If you have like 6-9 months of savings, just take the plunge. See what's out there. You're still young (ish)... go figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. It's much easier to do that when you aren't stuck in a soul sucking job.

Disregard if you don't have that much in cash savings... get that first then quit.

How do you feel about eating cat food?
Best answer.

This new business unit I work in now - well I have always been a part of but my former team was a dedicated team and kind of isolated from the rest of the business unit until this year - sucks. Everyone fights over stuff and I just think to myself "why does anyone care?" I literally fight about nothing because I don't care. This isn't my company. If people want to make decisions and I don't agree with them but that's what people want to do? Fine by me. This isn't my company and if it falls apart, then so be it. Legit do enough to get good reviews and not get fired but I am not paid enough to fight with people and be passionate about this ish just to get a 3% cost of living every year. We don't even get our full annual bonus % (separate from COLA) because the BU's that hit targets have to subsidize bonuses for those who didn't.

Here's my guide to worker satisfaction:

If, when you wake up before work, you don't think to yourself "wouldn't it be great if when I got to work today, the whole building is in flames?" then you are satisfied enough to keep working at your job.

Once you start fantasizing about your place of employment going fully en fuego, then it's time to start sending out résumés.

I work from home so I don’t want it going up in flames bc that means my house is on fire! lol. I want to be laid off with 6 months severance. I want to say “if you pay me for 6 months, I’ll volunteer and you guys can keep someone else who actually wants to be here”
