I played in college and two years of semi-pro. I coached the o-line for ten years at a local Joco.

I had 3 knee surgeries in HS and played about half a season my freshman year in college. By that time my knees had had enough and luckily I was smart enough to listen to them when they told me so...........

1 yr. college - special teams (too short to break the qb rotation although tutored the other taller, faster dumber QBs...lol)

semi-pro in los angeles - qb, option, FB and played hybrid in nickel defense as sort of LB/CB role.

tons of flag tournaments through the U.S. playing with current pro and former NFL, AFL, CFL and such.

assisted coached qb's and receiving for small college in los angeles.

assisted with a few HS programs for qb and receivers.

I am wanting to do a survey of sorts. I want to find out how many of us SR folks actually played or coached on the college level or beyond. By played, I mean you did more than go to a try out or play video games. Did you play in an actual college football game where you wore pads and weren't in a PE class? By coached, I mean you were hired by a head coach to work with players to help improve their skills in some way - this can be high school or college or beyond. Being a rabid fan does not count. If you did both play and coach, let me know. Please feel free to go into details.

As for me, I played 4 years of college football as a WR and then spent three years coaching (one as a RBs coach and two as a WRs coach). The hours killed me.

I know I'm not the only one.

It has nothing to do with superiority and very little to do with credibility. I was actually just curious. It would be nice to know who on here has some real life experience though.

Coached DBs for 3 years at a Canadian University, but had to leave due to family commitments. Currently coach for a local high school and a provincial all-star team.

Played two years of college ball as a DE/OLB and was just beginning to crack the roster before 9/11 happened and I joined up.
I looked into playing ball for the Marines but I didn't feel like destroying my body any further I now help coach the local high school's JV team

Exactly, but only now when I see his roster projections I'll say, "Geez, you'd think this guy could do this better. After all he played the sport and coached it. Shame."
