Just so yah know (1 Viewer)

Now I'm really confused. I always thought Texas A&M was the 12th sheep.

What about 2005 and 2006? Are you referring to our SuperBowl loss? If so yep it sucked, be glad you don't have to know what that feels like, to be so close to something you have dreamed of since you were a little kid, and miss out on it.

And you got screwed by the officiating in that game. Yep if that was the Saints, I wouldn't have been sober for 2-3 months.

Sorry just so you know, our #12 jersey was retired in 1984, we were just as loud then (louder actually cause we were in a dome) as we are now. The flag raising started in 2003. So although the game you mention was part of our history, it is just that history. Win or lose, we won't go away. We survived 1992, and 2009, you think a loss to you guys will make us slink away?

All that matters is Saturday, that is when new history will be written for one of us. Nice as you guys are, we were playing football before January 8th 2010. Also it was three years ago. That loss must have really hurt you huh, to make you lose a year ;)

Hurt? Not really. There were a lot of injuries that year and the team was pretty depleted and limped into the stadium. What really annoys me is that people won't shut up about Lynch's play. Y'all act like it won you a Super Bowl. Actually it's pretty sad that your team hasn't really had a play worth mentioning as much since.

I'm really worried about how we defend Zorn to Largent.

They literally (and legally) agreed that it was ripped off from Texas A&M, but they like it so so much.

...n the agreement, Texas A&M will allow the Seahawks to continue using the phrase "12th Man" provided the NFL franchise acknowledges that the copyright on the slogan belongs to the school.

The dispute had been simmering for years, but things hit a boiling point earlier this year when A&M sought a restraining order to block the use of the 12th Man or any variation of the slogan by the Seahawks during the week before the Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Detroit.

I was making a joke to the OP about the loss hurting him so bad he lost a year, not making a general statement about hurting your entire fan base. The only time I even acknowledge that play on here, is when I feel like I am forced to talk about it. For me, on here for the most part I try to be as absolutely civil as possible unless I feel like I am being attacked. That play has a way of instantly polarizing me from you folks, and I don't want that. I enjoy hearing a different perspective on things, and I like trying to give one. That play didn't give us anything but hope. Hope for a bright future, where we can eventually say we are the Champs. That was it, hope. I am definitely not sorry it happened, but I am sorry it happened to your team and your fans.

Hopefully anyone who actually reads what I post here, can see that I mostly talk about the present and the future, cause that is all I can try and control. The past bothers people because they lived it, the feelings are still there. I really do like it here, and don't want to drive a wedge.

That Super Bowl was bogus - the referees handed the game to the Steelers. I was rooting hard from Seattle in that game and even put a wager on them. I was ****** at how it was handled.

What sucks now is that I've always kinda liked Seattle and I love the city but you guys went and got the most pompous, arrogant coach possible not named Harbaugh. Add to that the fact that he's got a history of cheating, lying and basically bailing when things get rough and I just lose the respect I had. Losing this game would suck for a number of reasons, not least of which is that it makes me choose between Carroll, Harbaugh or Cam Newton in the NFC championship game. There are no winners there.

I just want to go on record completely disputing Seattle fans' claim as the loudest in football. It's a meme that turns my stomach every time I hear it from a media member. You don't deserve credit for being better fans just because your owner had the foresight to engineer the stadium to maximize its sound.

Don't swreat it. 90% of the saints community is pretty level headed and understand that Seattle made a great play. If you have to explain, you're talking to the wrong Saints fan.

Everything else in this thread looks like jealousy to me.

Most of us understand and know where you're coming from. I for one appreciate the knowledge and good sportsmanship you bring to our forum. You are always welcome. I used to like Seattle as well (because I felt they were very much like my Saints), but like stated above, there is just something about Pete C. that just rubs me the wrong way. Also, I hated to hear about the experience our fans received in the "beast mode game".

We are equally concerned about defending against Bobby Hebert. So touche :)

I fairness Bobby is scary at games

Then quit talking bout people's Mommas. I an the resident knucklehead here and I don't talk bad bout nobody's Momma.

In regards to our Coach, guys it is another topic that I am going to avoid just cause there is no changing peoples minds regarding the guy from outside our team and city. I see and hear about the good things he does for our community, and what he is still doing in California. I am an Oregon State Alum, and also a big U Dub fan, so I hate USC, and wasn't instantly thrilled with Pete's arrival. However I tried to go into it with an open mind, and read his book. It meant a world of difference to me, and I now understand the man he is. I wasn't there, at USC, none of us were, so no one really truly knows what did or did not happen. So I don't let it bother me. I can see why people wouldn't like him, I get it but, we LOVE our Coach as much as you do yours. That is all I will say.
