Of all of the QB's who will be available in free agency, I think Justin Fields has the most upside. It sounds like Pittsburgh wants him back but I'd make a run at him. He's better than anyone we have behind Carr. He can run. The next QB of the Saints will need to run! Fields was in a horrible situation with the Bears but had some flashes. He showed fairly well for himself in his audition with the Steelers. It's not impossible that he could be a franchise QB. He would be worth kicking the tires on this upcoming season while the team is still hamstrung financially. He could be your transition guy or the possible next guy. Thoughts?

Fields’ completion percentage, interception percentage, and quarterback rating AND sacks taken per atttempt have improved each of his four seasons in the league. All while his yards per attempt has remained steady.

Fields has been improving as an NFL passer, steadily and surely. I would bet he’s still not reached his peak

Co-sign.

Haven’t been a fan of his but think he’s worth the gamble to see if he meshes well and can elevate in Moore’s system.

I’m of the belief that we should hold onto Carr for financial purposes, but I really want to see some legitimate competition brought in for us to smoothly transition to the next guy.

Fields would be perfect.

I’d give it a shot. I just don’t think we can get rid of Carr and have money to sign fields.

Curious to see what kind of numbers he’d be looking at. I can’t imagine it would be TOO cost prohibitive, especially in a scenario where we did restructure Carr and the older guys.

Heck, getting a QB like Fields would ironically be a reason to restructure Carr and keep him around. It would provide the extra flexibility we’d need.

Weird huh?

Oh you think we’re going to sign him with Carr on the roster? That we could probably afford but I don’t see it happening. We have to eat Carr’s contract AND have money to sign fields IMO.

Y’all are convincing me about signing QB Justin Fields. Could he win in some of our “Taysom Packages”?

What are the matchup options with QB JUSTIN FIELDS & TAYSOM HILL playing on the same snap?
