Justin Fields, I'd roll the dice (26 Viewers)

I liked Fields a lot when he was coming out of college. The Bears were a bad fit for him and their coaching situation was bad too. I don't know how badly he's been ruined. They didn't let him throw a lot this year and he ended with 5 TDs in 6 games. They then put him on the bench for Russell Wilson. Granted the Steelers also had some draft pick motive to sit him down too. The 6th round pick they got him for would be a 4th if he had played 51% of the snaps.

So I don't know if he's going to be the guy. If Carr is gone and it was a 3 year deal with only one year guaranteed to see if he could beat out the young guys I'd be into it. But I don't think you bring him in thinking he'd for sure start.

But I do like him and hope he finds a home somewhere like Geno Smith did after a rough start.

Of all of the QB's who will be available in free agency, I think Justin Fields has the most upside. It sounds like Pittsburgh wants him back but I'd make a run at him. He's better than anyone we have behind Carr. He can run. The next QB of the Saints will need to run! Fields was in a horrible situation with the Bears but had some flashes. He showed fairly well for himself in his audition with the Steelers. It's not impossible that he could be a franchise QB. He would be worth kicking the tires on this upcoming season while the team is still hamstrung financially. He could be your transition guy or the possible next guy. Thoughts?
Vs the guys in the draft & what we currently have on the roster, i’d LOVE to see us roll the dice on Fields. His game has very similar elements to Hurts. Fields’s mobility could really mask the deficiency of the OL. Basing my opinion on the QBs he’s worked w/over the course of his OC career, a dude like Fields seems like Moore’s exact prototype at QB.

Mentioned this long time ago. It’s not even about Justin being the guy. It’s about finding a way to put playmakers on the field, at a reasonable costs, while figuring out the plan of attack for the future. Justin’s main attribute is his legs. Let the guy run dang it. He’s literally faster than opposing defenses, so why would anyone want to take that away is beyond me?!?!

I'll say he's gotten a little better each season, but we're still talking about a QB who has a career 155 passing ypg average and 110 this season. That's AWFUL. That said, I'd prefer someone like him (a wildcard) over a boring retread like Cousins.

Posters should not make the mistake of trying to match qb or offensive talent with a Moore’s style of offensive scheme. He will adjust his scheme to the talent available which is probably why he will be successful.
Right, and copying a past offense has a track record of flopping.
