Kellen Moore expected to be Saints coach (35 Viewers)

Yeah i get that, so then in that case there’s literally nothing new to their reporting that we haven’t known for at least several days.. that Moore is likely to take the job .
I think the bit on Moore telling other people that he wants the job may have been new.. and is sort of supposed to serve as additional confirmation that this is getting done, but yeah.. basically a reconfirmation of what we already know.

I agree with this- but one thing I’ll say is that he’s had the benefit of having top-level QBs at each of his OC stops until now. He went from Dak, to Herbert, to Hurts. I’m hopeful he can build up a QB who’s not on their level, but it will be interesting to see it play out and what he’s capable of if the QB is mid-to-lower tier.

The way people take about Dak, you'd think he was worse than Carr. Hurts is a RB who can throw and he's improved in that area, so that has made him more dangerous, but teams still don't really respect him as a passer.

The point is, it looks like Moore can work with any style QB and build an offense around his strengths.

There’s still time for the **** who heads the NFL to find an excuse for penalizing the Saints, who have tried to stay within the rules. I’ll be so glad when this process is over, and the new staff can get to work.

He had one before that he had essentially signed with the cowboys in 2019 as the rest of the city was still in shock over the Nola no call and dressing up as referees for Mardi Gras he was inking a deal to sign up with Jerry Jones. It’s only thanks to Anthony Davis demanding a trade from the Pelicans that he remained here.

Point being he had been looking for an exit for quite some time. This is a compleat guess and pure conjecture on my part but my theory is he foresaw what Patrick Mahomes was going to be and we were in position to make that happen but Sean Payton wanted to do everything possible to make it happen, as in move up and assure we got him. The Saints front office was content to roll along with Brees or perhaps make the pick where we were picking. The Chiefs and Andy Ried traded infront of us and the rest is history. I think from that day forward he was thinking about Brees aging and how he could find an exit.

My second theory is he loved being here as long as Tom Benson was here. Sean’s unchecked power and unlimited $$$ derived from Tom Benson. Once Mr. Benson died things got murky Mr. Dennis and other voices started to carry a little more weight. Sean didn’t like the new setup or he saw the writing on the wall and didn’t like where things were headed and wanted out.

Both theories are compleatly unsubstantiated conjecture by me. It in all likelihood could just be the man was tired of doing the same thing everyday and just wanted a change for changes sake.
Regardless if your conjecture is correct or not, it’s not immoral. As fans we have this incorrect assumption, that coaches should be loyal and take one for the team. And players should be loyal give home town discounts. But the reality is, there is no “loyalty”. There’s “opportunity”. Sean’s best opportunity was to stay with the Saints while Drew Brees was here. Afterwards, his best opportunity was the Miami /Brady situation. And that Dallas situation if true. And finally the Denver opportunity which he took. The fans value is only this, “this is a good fan base, they are loud when needed”. Thats the extent. It’s a cold and highly competitive atmosphere. You’re either all in, or you’re picked clean by the vultures. Which is today’s scenario, until we totally restart with KM. This isn’t Debbie downer, it’s reality.

How can it possibly be that we don't yet have a viral Shawn Peyton presser quote like, "Playoffs?" or "You play to win the game"? The only Shaun Paytun pressers I can remember start with "Look" and then I usually zone out.

No not in this case. He just wants to know who it is, like us. Why? Because once it’s known, he can hire Rizzi and move on with his life. I also think he’s genuinely curious too because he was a coach here.
Didn't he already get his Riz?

Didn't he already get his Riz?
As far as I know, his special teams coaching job is still open, which was planned in advance for Rizzi, once the Saints sign KM. I still have false hope that somehow we’d retain Rizzi as stc. But i know it’s not likely
