It really comes down to if he wants to bet on himself. Ben Johnson could have been a HC 2 season ago. He took the gamble and waited a couple of years and then landed a pretty good job with the Bears.

To be clear I am really hoping he takes the job, and I think he will. But him and his team are stupid if there not at least thinking about waiting another cycle and seeing if his stock can rise and maybe a better opportunity opens up.

Moore has been in the interview process for HC jobs for several years already. He knows what is out there and how hard it is to get that offer. He has also learned that your star can fall as fast as it rises. He was a hot candidate for a couple years in Dallas, but likely too young to get an offer, then it fell far with the Chargers. And now it's back up with Philly. All it takes is one injury to Saquon or Hurts and suddenly Philly fans are yelling for a new OC. It's happened before in Philly in just one year.

You can bet on yourself, but sometimes failure is outside of your control. And I think winning the Super Bowl may make it easier for him to move on since he won't feel like there is unfinished business in Philly.

Doesn't mean he won't decide to wait another year, but what Johnson did was a huge gamble and by far the exception, not the rule.

I think he certainly has just as good of a chance of being successful as Ben Johnson, Coen, Schottenheimer, and Aaron Glenn. And maybe a better shot than some of them.

Waiting two years and then getting the Bears? That doesn't make the greatest case for waiting.

Respectfully disagree. Moore just won a SB with the Eagles, while Johnson didn't even make it to the game. Your stock will never be higher than when you're holding the Lombardi. Maybe that's what Johnson was holding out for? If Moore has aspirations of being a HC, this is the time he is viewed as being at "peak hotness". Ask Bobby Slowik what happens the year after you failed to land a HC opportunity. Not saying any of that is a given....just what I believe is statistically likely.

What is statistically likely is that Moore is already on the most desirable tier, and there's only 1 opportunity available for him to exploit that popularity. Waiting another year for a "better opportunity" is certainly an option. But there are MANY downside risks to that, while the only upside is that he'll STILL be viewed as a top-tier SB winning HC candidate. Unless Moore was born in Atlanta, or was otherwise raised to despise the Saints, the smart money takes the bird in hand opportunity. Saints are going to have to really bungle something to undo this. Otherwise, he's coming. Let him enjoy the spoils of victory with his guys, and to remember the euphoria of planting his flag on the mountain. And let him wonder what it must feel like to be the man....the HC....who orchestrated the entire thing, rather than just doing his part. We are ready for you....BRING IT Coach!

This is as good a comment to springboard off as any, but when asked about the nature of his pregame speech, Sirianni mentioned Pacino's speech in Any Given Sunday, said it was "awesome...but it don't work that way". Said his job isn't to inspire but rather to remind the players of what they already know, and said winning usually comes down to being the toughest, the most together, and the most detailed. I found that interesting in light of the discussions that have taken place on this board and what fans want to see in a coach, and relevant to how it depicts the culture Moore is a part of in Philly.

It's hard to judge Moore because of the insane level of talent he has at his disposal.

The best offensive line in the league.

The best running back in the league.

A true #1 receiver in AJ Brown.

A true #2 maybe #1 on some teams in Smith.

A very good TE as well.

Pro bowl caliber QB in Hurts.

That's seriously game breaking amount of talent and he most likely will never have that level of talent ever again.

I don't really disagree with anything your saying, but everything in the NFL is a calculated risk. Most coaches only get one shot at being an HC and so it behooves him to at least look at other options.

Like I said, I think Moore will take the job, I just think it's stupid for him to not consider all the possibilities.

Moore caught spags lacking a couple of times that turned into big plays.

I think Johnson was always viewed as a more “seasoned” coach overall and once he showed he was a top-flight OC this stock just exploded.

Moore is still relatively inexperienced as a coach overall but has obviously shown to be a solid OC.

I suppose the big question for Moore is how he translates as the top guy with limited overall coaching experience.

But to your point, I think Moore has a great chance to be a solid HC if the players buy-in.
