Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Moore has begun working on assembling staff; Schefter: “Moore is gonna be Saints coach barring a setback” (49 Viewers)

Interesting that we haven’t heard of the OL coaches being allowed to leave. Makes me wonder if we are blocking them, which is within our rights, and want to make sure they’re available for the new HC to decide on.

Lots of staffs are being put together starting this week at the Senior Bowl but I think it's all far from over especially for position coaches. I also can't see Loomis blocking Kubiak's guys from following him if they want to. Those guys may just be looking at all their options before deciding what they want to do.

I really think my favorite thing about a Kafka hire would be if he brought Wink Martindale in as DC. First, I love his attacking defense and second, as a kid who grew up watching morning game shows in the 70s and 80s, it amuses me that his name is Wink Martindale.

On a more serious note, I wonder if Moore would consider Martindale as an experienced DC to bring in and also be the Assistant HC to help him with his experience?

Underhill speculated that Moore could look at Brandon Staley since he worked for him with the Chargers. Would not be my choice, because I really want a switch to an attacking 3-4 or 3-4 hybrid defense.
I was excited about Martindale too

If hired, Moore would be the youngest head coach in team history, at 36. Previous-youngest was J.D. Roberts in 1970, who was 37. Payton was 42 when hired in early '06.
I remember how young SP was when he started and now we will possibly top that with Moore….I feel so old. ;)

I'm cautiously optimistic about Moore being the coach. At the same time I feel like there is a bit of deductive reasoning going on from the media and us as fans with him being the front runner. There aren't many left that haven't declined an in person interview, so with him being the last to interview it appears that he is the favorite. Is he though? There hasn't been much talk about what Moore himself is thinking about the job. That the Saints flew to him and had a late night interview in Philly was strange and unprecedented. I'm sure there will be some questions about it on media day for the Super Bowl that will clear up my skepticism, but the last week has been too much for me to get excited until the pen hits the paper.

Young guy on the rise. I like the fact he is offensively minded. I don't really know anything about him except he is young and obviously doing well with Philly. Hopefully we get a coach that is willing to go after a good QB. He is the same age as Demario Davis.

I think it is delusional to think that Nuss will ever be at the level of a Burrow or JD.....but I guess anything is possible!!!!
How is it delusional? His first season starting he put up better numbers than Burrow and Daniels did their first seasons starting. He also has that confident air about him that a QB needs, he can make every throw, he’s shown the ability to scramble when needed. He has all the tools, there’s no reason he can’t put it all together.

If Moore is the guy, then it's time to rally around him. He probably wasn't my first option, but they didn't ask me for some reason. All new coaches have a 50/50 shot. And think about it, most new coaches aren't coming into a good set up. Kinda like the #1 draft pick usually is going to a team that stinks. I want them to take their time and get it right. Got to give the guy some time. Everyone was wanting Johnson, but whose to say he will pan out. Just have to wait and see.
