Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting Moore again after Super Bowl, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling staff (96 Viewers)

I'm not saying Russini didn't hear what she heard. I'm not saying Ross can't speculate on that podcast comment to generate content for his website and his podcast.

But I will say, Kellen is clearly the guy. It is going to happen barring catastrophe. It's not 50/50, Elias. It's much closer to 100% than it is 50%, just by looking at the way the situation has played out.

We did this all last year with waiting on Kubiak, but some of ya'll didn't learn anything from that situation because you're so scared of disaster.
touche,

Agreed. Either way, you’d have to imagine that Mickey made it clear they’re willing to invest major assets to maneuver for a QB via draft or free agency (this year or next). Would make more sense next offseason with limited viable options this offseason, but we’ve been surprised before. At least all of the change we’ve been clamoring for will give us all a reason to be invested again… even if it takes a season or two to really notice.
I think the HC is the leader of the team and not any one player and Moore will be able to construct this roster as best he can in the first year and Loomis and Co will help him shape and mold this roster.

I think moving on from Carr would be good for both sides as this is a rebuild and we need all the assets we can get and with the #9 pick we may be able to land a signal caller that Moore may like if its not Rattler.

And of course there's always the possibility Moore ends up not taking the job (just acknowledging that) but your last sentence is doing some important heavy lifting.

"Grain of salt" as it has to be with all of these reports but *if* it's true he's working on staff, that's a strong indication it's all but official. Once you start involving other people and their livelihoods, you need to be certain about what you're going to do.
From my chair.
• There is a verbal agreement (pretty obvious) and we're following the guideline in respect to the Super Bowl rules.
• Supposedly, when these candidates interview they present their plan for the team and that would include a staff they'd like to assemble. So that would mean Loomis could be lining up his wish list for his staff (within the rules). And for all of the negativity around Loomis, that is one of his strengths.
• And though it looks like it will proceed like it did with Kubiak, last year, there is still a chance that winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles and the emotional high, etc. could have him rethink. Especially if the Eagles are making a hard play to retain him (like NE did with Daniels). I hope not and doubt it, but you never know.

For me, this is an exciting time to be a Saints fan. This is the first clear indication of evolution of the franchise. It’s been obvious that the organization has been clinging to memories of 2009 for a long long time. Feels like a new beginning. We still need that same evolution at GM, but it’s a start.

I just got confirmation that Kellen Moore would be a good coach. My neighbor says he'll be an awful head coach worse then Dennis Allen.

This guy somehow pulls off the impressive where he's incorrect more then a broken clock. In fact the only thing I think he nailed was Deshuan Watson being a bad get back when the Saints were trying to get him.

He thought Payton was awful and the Bo Nix pick was the dumbest thing ever, and confirmed his belief that Payton was washed up.
He thought Russell Wilson would be terrible in Pittsburgh
He thought Dennis Allen would be a good coach
He thinks coaching is vastly overrated
He thinks speed is the only skill that matters in the NFL
He believes edge rushers in a 4-3 and 3-4 are 100% interchangeable
And 100 other things that'll make your head explode.

The bad news? He's been stating how he thinks Kamara will be the best RB in fantasy football next year. For clarity, he thought Barkley was dog water in the last draft and made fun of the person who drafted him (himself) and complained all draft how he was stuck with the worst RB1.

We know it's going to be Moore because the Saints haven't hired anybody else.

Hope they don't lose him, that would be a doomsday scenario.

Na. Just hire me. I can come in and help burn down the house while advising loomis to clean the cap up and I'll do it for half of other coaches pay while achieving the #1 pick for 2026. Might even have all the players in Cancun for week 18 thinking the season is only 17 weeks long still.
