Kenny Pickett "Saints we're my toughest interview" (2 Viewers)

I think Rhule is going to make a valiant effort to save his job. If they really roll into 2022 with Darnold/Newton as QB, without some type of offseason fanfare, he's probably gonna suffer an Urban Meyer fate. Atlanta, Seattle, Carolina could all possibly be targets for either or. I just have a sneaking suspicion Malik will be the first QB taken because he's been all flash thus far, even if Pickett is the more ready QB to play now.
Rhule is fired no matter what. Tepper is just waiting his contract out. Remember he told Watson that he could choose the next coach? 😂 And last year he mentioned that he should have fired Rhule. My guess is that he didn’t want to have to pay him and a newly hired coach.

I’m not hoping to draft a rookie QB, let Jameis do his thing this year without a rookie breathing down his neck. But I did have Pickett on my fantasy team last year and he put up big numbers every week. He can definitely move an offense down the field.
If there is a guy the Saints really like in the draft…I’m hurting Winston’s feeling and drafting them. These are professionals. Winston shouldn’t feel comfortable even if the Saints don’t draft anyone…he’s on a 2 year deal with lots to prove. If he plays well…awesome, good problem to have.

I agree. No rookie is gonna save Rhule. Id be surprised if the FO lets Rhule take on a day one Rookie after the "I can rescue Sam Darnold" train wreck. I'm thinking they go Defense with their 1st pick. They will come out the gates hot then CMac gets hurt and the wheels fall off down the stretch. Rhule likely doesnt last the season.

I like Pickett... He's probably my favorite QB in this draft... I think he has the most long term upside in this group. He's big, athletic, has a big arm, he played in a system that required full field reads, and his TD-INT ratio went from 13:9 in 2020 to 42:7 in 2021. So he's shown he can progress. I like guys like Willis (who I think will be a top 10 pick) and Corral too, but I see them as potential guys that will come into the NFL and flash big talent, then fizzle out (like RG3 or Vince Young)...

In my last mock, I had us taking Chris Olave at 18... Then trading back up into the 1st with The Lions to grab Pickett at 32 to get the 5th year option for him.

I am not shocked the Saints like him...

I have a feeling both Malik and Pickett will be gone at 6 and one will be taken at 8 or 9. No way either or is falling to 18. The only way, is if Carolina gets into the Baker/Jimmy G sweepstakes then one of them will fall a bit further.
Agreed. I don't think drafting Pickett will be an option at 18.

Let's face it, our division is getting weaker and we have the defence to make the playoffs. This year, we are drafting almost at the middle of the first round, but if things go well, we are going to be drafting in the 20s for years to come.

It is true that there are no superstars in this draft at quarterback, but I think the prospects are very competitive. To me, getting a guy that will start for us for years to come at pick #18 is a chance that we should not let pass.

I think Pickett, Willis and Corral are worth the 18th pick. I actually think Ridder is also worth the pick even when he is projected to be drafted later. The position makes the over-draft worthy.

Today, our team is not better than last year, and not even close to what it was too years ago. And still, I am confident we can make the playoffs this year. Going to the Super Bowl? No so.

The immediate impact may come from a wide receiver, but I would be very happy if our pick is a left tackle or one of the quarterbacks.

Only rookie QB I want to hear the Saints draft in the next 5 years is Arch Manning

I really think that it is unfair the pressure on the shoulders of this young man, every one thinks he will be the best next thing even when he still has ways to go.

And, if the guy ends being the prospect everyone hopes for, he will be drafted early and I think, far from the reach of the saints.

Amazing how the mocks change over the weeks. Beginning of March, most of the mocks had the Saints taking Olave at 18. Pickett was to be selected in the top 8 picks.

Now I have seen several mocks where the Saints will select Pickett at 18. Has his stock fallen that much or are less teams looking for a QB in the first round?

Tepper is making this pick. If he tells them to take a QB they will, and Rhule will still be fired. I have no idea which way they’ll go.

Was going to post the exact same. I think it’s like when you are shutting down a garage sale and you tell people you can take everything left for $100 dollars but they have to take it all to get the deal.

I seem to recall a tweet where someone said that one of the teams contacted about trading for Mayfield told Cleveland they would have to send them a pick to take Mayfield.
