I agree that it was the right thing for the Saints to do no matter what. We had to start now to eat these crippling contracts. But we won't know the complete benefit to the Saints until we see everything that we get from the trade.The players we end up drafting do not determine if the trade was good or not.
To be fair.. his hamstring issues followed him from his College days. He was a good dude and a solid corner when available. It's sad to see his career be marred by injury.I was glad we were able to get a decent return in trade for him. He really hasn’t been all that great for about 3 seasons…. And has been injured far too often within that time frame too.
To me he always seemed to play well in big games against certain players and get cooked in others…. Then he’d summarily get some injury.
Wish him well, but the Saints made the right decision by trading him.
