Ah yes, the injuries, poor drafting, and poor coaching aren't the culprits...it's that doggone complicated financial ledger that looks different than I am used to seeing's fault.

All of that is a factor of course, but what free agent, in his right mind and with plenty of choices, is going to come here?

I'm not a big fan of how the Saints have managed the cap. That said, I don't think this year's dead cap money is really that prohibitive. 15 teams are carrying over $50mil in dead cap charges this year. Only 9 teams are carrying less than $30mil in dead cap charges. Saints are middle of the pack.
