Looks like Sirianni will block coaches from following Kellen [mod edit: lateral moves] (17 Viewers)

Exactly it's like the draft grades that come out on the Monday after the draft. Rosters are not even built yet. There is no way to know once bullets start flying in September.

Not to mention the difference between success and failure is miniscule.

Think about this Ben Johnson gets too cute in his first year and plenty of his triple reverse, flee flicker - half back passes get picked off. Say that happens in a bunch of big spots. He looks like a fool and finishes the year on thin ice.

If those same plays hit at the right times he is a genius and candidate for coach of the year.

Execution on a few plays can be the difference between success and failure for a coach.
Sirianni just won a Super Bowl, but early this season they were calling for his head. He made some head scratcher calls and almost lost to our Saint (should have lost). At that point in the season, they started trending up and our collapse began.

One good thing about this bad season is that we’re getting a fresh start. 👍

It's already a fresh start just by the changes to the coaching staff. If Moore is a good head coach and puts together a good staff, that by itself will improve the performance of the team even if they don't change a single player on the roster.

Look at how much the DL improved their pass rushing after DA was fired and the defense line coaches changed. A big contributing factor to why some players play better or worse when they change teams is the coaching they get with the new team.

I'm confident that the coaching is going to be vastly improved over last season and I think if the Saints had started last season with the new coaching staff, they probably get at least 2 or 3 more wins, even with all the same injuries.

I also believe there's a good chance that the new staff wouldn't have had as many of those injuries that happened under the old staff. Once Rizzi took over, new soft tissue injuries dropped off to almost zero, because of changes he made to practices.

yea. after the 07 and 08 seasons, people were beginning to question it..
No doubt this is very true speaking of double reverse flee flickers.

I remember vividly in that 08 season Payton called some crazy overly cute play with the game on the line resulting in Reggie Bush or maybe Devery Henderson getting stuffed.

In that moment the calls for Payton’s job were loud and widespread. 2009 was a make or break year for him. We kicked Detroit’s teeth in week one and Payton never had to look over his shoulder again, even thru the doldrums of 7-9 seasons of 2014-2016.

One stupid play call in the wrong moment can sink any coach.
