Looks like Sirianni will block coaches from following Kellen [mod edit: lateral moves] (3 Viewers)

I wonder what the rules are if Nussmeier chose to decline the Eagles offer of a promotion to OC? Does that allow Nussmeier to accept the Saints OC position if they offer it to him?
Basically he’d have to be given a position higher than QB coach here in order for him to not be blocked from coming.

I'm pretty sure it still would be considered a promotion if he left because currently it's a step up

My question was what if both the Saints and Eagles offer him an OC position. If that happens, does he have to take the Eagles offer of OC or can he take the Saints offer of OC?

To all those giving me the negative emojis, why don’t yall prove me wrong.
What exactly did Nick do?
He didn’t coach Saquon into being the best RB. He didn’t coach the defense. He didn’t call plays. All he did was manage supremely gifted/talented guys, who are all solid great locker room guys. The only wildcards are Ceedy and AJ.
Nick pulled a “George Siefert”. All he did was be the HC of the most talented team, from top to bottom, in the NFL. Everyone else did the heavy lifting.
if having talented/gifted guys was a coast to winning the Superbowl, then Dallas would have won couple SB in the last 20 years.

You cannot be forced to take a position. He would be able to sign with Saints if he wanted to.

I hope that's how it is. A team shouldn't be able to handcuff a coach just by offering them a promotion and block them from going somewhere else if they want. The coach should be able to choose which team they want to accept the promotion from.

The NFL is somewhat dictatorial on some issues though, so the coach might be forced to stay with his current team in that case.

Is that what you think or something you've heard or read? I did a quick search to find the answer, but couldn't.
I may be mistaken but I’m not sure if you’re going to find any articles on coaches not being forced to take a new position.

i don't agree with that statement
Like I’m dead serious about what I said.
They found their identity and along the way, everything clicked for them. I’m a huge Jalen Hurts fan, even I have to admit that he didn’t have to do too much. Things just fell their way, in terms of how they got some guys back from injury, drafting the right players (who instantly contributed), signed the right guys in FA, and they became the team of destiny for 2024. It was just meant to be.

Now what don’t you agree with?
That the Eagles were the most talented or that Dallas once had the most talented team in the league (at some point) in the last 20 years?

Eagles had the best defense. Had the best Oline. Had the best RB. They didn’t do much passing bc they didn’t need to and if they were forced to pass, then that wasn’t a problem for them. Easily the best team. There were literally no holes in that team.

The QB Coach was the only one that was being linked to following Moore to NO (Doug N) and I believe there is a linebacker coach who could be a target for DC for Moore so any guy he brings would be a promotional hire.
Just a thought. Some claiming a block by Philly with handing out promotions. 1: The Person of Hire still has control. Yes? Again, logically speaking, likely those things were in fact discussed during KM conversations with ML. 2: Money and we really have no idea what was presented or discussed {If KM wants Nuss as his OC & possibly have him focus more on the QB side {2 birds with one stone sorta thing). Honestly, Don't think KM is gonna be able to Pull the DC from Philly if possible. As someone said, you can only promote so many as Asst Head coach etc. So, Who would Philly promote_ Likely the DC an let Nuss transfer with KM. just my logical approach in the thinking. Philly is likely to protect the DC First and foremost. #1 Ranked Defense. says it all. Just my thoughts.
