Loomis on WWL 1/2 (2 Viewers)

Comparing Brees' '06 season to this season with Carr is pointless and insulting. Total strawman argument. Plus, Brees was coming off his shoulder surgery and STILL: won the division, went to the NFC championship game, broke team records for yards and was a pro bowler and All Pro (in 2006 alone). Carr accomplished none of these things.

I find more and more that Loomis talks down to the media and fans. He thinks he's smarter than us and that we "just don't understand." He's wrong and should be replaced (though I know that will never happen as he has, like a tick, burrowed so deeply into the Benson hide).

Totally agree, starting to realize Loomis is the problem

Sorry Mickey but I remember Drew's first games against the Browns and the Packers. I watched those games fearful that Drew's arm was going to fall off or that he couldn't throw more than 15 yards downfield. But after watching him throw 2nd half dime TD's, and with the new offensive talent on the team, I knew we had a potential hall of famer.
I can't say I knew we had a HoF'er with Drew year 1 but I knew we had a franchise QB. I can't say the same about Carr. I'm not about throwing him to the curb after 1 year (not that we could anyway), but I'd want them to proceed like they still haven't found "the guy" until he proves it.

My opinion on Carr is that he will wow you one game and disappoint you in the next. Hit him a couple of times and he starts seeing ghosts and has happy feet and will opt for the checkdown before any mid to deep routes open up. He underperformed this year but at the same time, his coaching staff really didn't help him a whole lot. Waiting until the end of the season to run more play action, something Carr does well, is baffling to me.

Summing it up in a few words must be “we got to keep chopping wood’

Loomis is the biggest issue we have. I keep saying it and get beat down for it but this dude is lost.
Getting beat down for it? By who? I was getting a few ‘clowns’ last year around this time for posting that I wanted ML to fire DA, but now just about everyone is saying Loomis has lost his way. Just read through this thread alone almost everyone is saying he’s become burnt toast.

i wouldn't mind if they ran it back one more year with some tweaks, i really think this team is either a little ways away or they're totally never gonna make it.

As long as we don’t throw away future draft capital, then fine. But we have to stop mortgaging the future on significant gambles in the draft and a “kick the can down the road” cap approach.

Generally, these moves typically never work out. Carr going to be 33 next off season. Don't let Drew and Tom Brady fool you. QB still decline right about this time at 35. Drew wasn't even in his prime when we got him.

A controlled rebuild is better than a one forced by years of bad decision and hanging onto mediocre coaches with no killer instinct.

I've been getting the vibe that Pete may return and that the upheaval will be minor, or at least not what everyone is expecting.

Rather than a new OC and entirely new staff, something like a senior offensive assistant that comes in and helps Carmichael and then a new OL/running game coordinator.
Definitely seems like he is contradicting Underhill’s comments about us going after a new OC in 2024. You wouldn’t talk about Carr needing time to grasp the offense if you planned on throwing the offense out this Monday.

I think the OL is a bigger problem than the playcalling, it needed to be addressed whether we got a new OC or not. We also need more talent (despite the heavy investments we’ve already made).

Probably the most interesting thing he said this

Probably the most interesting thing he said this week.

OMG!! Man, that’s is a seriously bad insult of our intelligence! Didn’t we go to the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP? That is not in the same solar system, galaxy or universe as this year!!! I can’t believe he said that and then, yes I can!

Carmichael cannot be in the OC position next year at a minimum.

I thought I read on here or somewhere else that the offensive line has actually allowed less sacks than most of the league.
