Loomis on WWL 1/2 (3 Viewers)

what really pisses me off is how everybody can be critiqued with the exception of DA and Carr. They have zero issues throwing other players under the bus for mishaps and underperforming. Meanwhile Carr has done nothing but and keeps getting praise. They then use his empty yards as justifications for him playing well
"stats don't tell the whole story" or some other cliche BS.

I thought I read on here or somewhere else that the offensive line has actually allowed less sacks than most of the league.
Some of the advanced stats say otherwise. For example, PFF has us ranked 25th for pass blocking, and ESPN has us ranked 31st for pass block win rate.

I see our future now. Trading picks, signing contracts we can’t get away from just to play it again with DA, PC and Carr. It’s friggen insulting to fans and Drew that this dude is comparing 2006 Brees (a young ascending player) with 2023 Carr (an average at best QB far past his prime). Saints won’t get another dollar from me till he and the rest of his clown show are gone.

DREW BREES LITERALLY LED THE LEAGUE IN PASSING YARDS IN HIS FIRST SEASON AS A SAINT.
His 2006 passing yards total would probably qualify for top five this year, especially if some of the starters rest.

That, and Carr has only passed Brees’ 2006 total yards once in his ten year career. Brees was only below that total once in the ten years that followed.

Mickey Mouse made a really stupid statement that insults us Saints fans!

Listening to Loomis talk and you can clearly hear that he thinks he’s the reason for the last decade and a half. In all these interviews he keeps comparing today’s team with those teams, but those past teams had Drew Brees and Sean Payton. Loomis really believes that he can do the same things with these people. That it’s just plug and play to replace a HOF coach and QB combo because if he did it with Sean and Drew he can do it with his next chosen combo as well.

We'll find out over the next two years because none of the moves he has made lately has panned out very well. When you miss on draft picks, kicking the can down the road becomes catastrophic strategy. It is gonna take multiple seasons at this point to fix both lines and that is only if the moves you make pan out. DA is gonna fail harder next year because this problem goes so far beyond just Pete Carmichael being a bad play caller. Situational football has been bad for 2 years, sloppy and undisciplined with penalties. Not being ready to play a game every week, being consistently inconsistent. All of that isn't getting fixed because you gave Pete Carmichael and the offensive staff a boot in the off season.

Throwing out the injury excuse as justification to bring Allen back to coach for Carr.
I didn't like the part about fans selling tickets because they were tight on money. This dud e is starting to let us all see behind the curtain on Airline drive. They all look dow n on us as poor serfs to fleece with an inferior product. It's a boycott Mick and when ya'll bring this low energy mope back it's only going to escalate.

As long as we don’t throw away future draft capital, then fine. But we have to stop mortgaging the future on significant gambles in the draft and a “kick the can down the road” cap approach.
Same. Rebuild the lines during this time (next 2 years), maybe groom a QB, let Carr take all the hits both mentally and physically.

Comparing Brees' '06 season to this season with Carr is pointless and insulting. Total strawman argument. Plus, Brees was coming off his shoulder surgery and STILL: won the division, went to the NFC championship game, broke team records for yards and was a pro bowler and All Pro (in 2006 alone). Carr accomplished none of these things.

I find more and more that Loomis talks down to the media and fans. He thinks he's smarter than us and that we "just don't understand." He's wrong and should be replaced (though I know that will never happen as he has, like a tick, burrowed so deeply into the Benson hide).
I bet HE could lift that hospital room bed over his head. He thinks he's better than us? Mandlebaum, Mandlebaum. Mandlebaum!

If Mickey thinks no major changes are needed on offense, he's in for a rude awakening. My wish is for him to clean house with the coaching staff and start fresh. But being a realist, I know that DA will probably be back and we're stuck with Carr for at least one more year. The biggest mistake he could make would be keeping PC and letting him call plays next year. I think he loses the fanbase in droves if that happens.

Mickey is just doing what his role as GM requires him to do. We are stuck with Carr for a minimum of one more season, he has to stand by his QB. Even if he knows in his own head that they probably made a mistake, he nor any other GM is going to give you the 100% truth or tell everyone's real opinions behind the scenes, doesn't happen. Same thing for Pete Carmichael, he's not going to come out with games left to be played and a potential, albeit unlikely, playoff berth and give a vote of no confidence in the OC. People really need to stop acting so outraged, it's a universal truth in the NFL that coaches and GMs lie to your face all the time, partly because they have to.
