People are overlooking something. There has been rumbles that Doncic wasn't going to stay with the Mavs and could have opted out next season. And no matter how good he is on offense, when he is on defense he might as well play for the other team (plus his conditioning issues are worse than Zions). With the new luxury tax rules, paying a one dimensional player (no matter how good he is on offense) is a huge gamble. Plus Doncic SUCKS as a team leader.

Good chance the Lakers get exposed in the playoffs. As history shows, teams with good defense win significantly more in the playoffs. The Lakers have virtually no defense without AD

How is AD's team leadership? Dude is a spoiled, soft, malcontent. He reacts to every hangnail like his finger is being ripped off. Luca will take this personally and get himself in shape and be a dominant player for the next decade. L.A. will be able to add some complementary pieces around him like they always do. They have their superstar for the post-LeBron era and they shipped away their biggest potential liability in the process.

The Mavericks GM and owner need to be drug tested, that's the only way to make any sense of this trade.
I wouldn't trade any player for Anthony " I'm hurt again" Davis. This is just so baffling. Luka is 25 and Davis 32,
that alone makes it a horrible trade. Something is missing here and I'm sure it will come our sooner or later.
