I must say that I am very impressed with what he brings to the table. We have a lot of talent in the secondary, but the dude seems to be a "gamer."

Does he make it on the Saints' final roster, or not?

:gosaints:

When I hear Payton talk about him, I get the sense that they have a vision for him on special teams, and they like the depth that he brings to the S position.

A better question would be will the Bama kid or Pierre Warren make it. Ball's spot is all but secured. Ball would have to do something real stupid OFF THE FIELD to not make the 53 IMO.

I've seen more from Warren then Ball but he's being talked up like he's the 4th safety so I guess he will.

Ball makes the team, book it. Hes been good on ST and has serious aggressive instincts, he's a under refined black vaccaro. Book it, book it, BOOK IT.

Ball easily makes the team.

A safety set that includes Vaccaro, Bush, and Ball will be a pain train for anyone running loose in the secondary. I don't think there's another team that can field a tougher set of safeties.

that one makes the most sense to me. its scary that we actually have good talent beyond back up Rafael Bush. #1 pass defense this year!

okay i like to consider myself a pretty good saints fan, following the offseason and what not but i havnt heard of this warren guy. i saw when we signed Ball cause he was from CFL and sunseri cause of the draft but just havnt heard of warren. someone enlighten me.

This seams like a no brainer. The real question is "Does Sunseri make the team over Warren, or do we keep 6 safeties?"
Yep, completely agree. Dude has been making plays all during camp. I can't remember a day that he wasn't. I like both sunseri and Warren, but I think that sunseri is a better Roman and Warren seems like a possible playmaker (except he doesn't hang on to the ball).

Ball owned the CFL, and his strength is supposed to be instincts. Something Payton alluded too. That's also a quality Harper and Jenkins couldn't improve on.

I think we keep 11 DB's (5 of 1 group and 6 of the other)

Byrd, Vaccaro, Bush, Lewis, Robinson, White, SJB - Are Locks (7)

Bailey - Probably makes the team if he is healthy week 1 (8)

So you have three spots and I would guess right now they are in this order:

Wade, Ball, Warren, Sunseri, Sweeting

Longshots:

Zimmerman, Dixon, Fredericks, Brooks

I'm hoping the FO decides keep 6 safeties this season. I'm really curious to see how Ball, Sunseri and Warren would do on the roster, they all seem to have great upside.

Ball, Sunseri and Sweeting will be the final 3 assuming that Bailey make the team.
