If you make this okay...at what point do they draw the line? Is it only okay to drink beer on a play near the end of the game? Or will it be okay to have a beer in the 2nd quarter and then go back to playing? If beer is okay....how about a shot?

This is a proper response. The players' safety is paramount on this situation. If the game is about over, then schmoozing with the fans is ok. After all, it is a game of ENTERTAINMENT. If it happens say after the 2 min warning at the end of the game and there is very little chance of said player going back in, let them have fun with their employer....after all the FANS are the real EMPLOYER. The owner/coach/GM are just middlemen.

During a game. If the clock hit 0:00 and he went up in the stands and did that I think it would be fine. He probably wouldn’t though because that’s his time. I bet he doesn’t want to spend his time drinking with the fans.
