Davis says the NFL currently has 3 real options of how to proceed.

Option 1, the league presses forward as planned and hopes for the best.

Option 2, push back the start of the season until November and reduce the number of regular-season games to 12. All interconference games would be axed.

Option 3, cancel the 2020 season altogether.

Goodell won't be thrilled he's speaking out.

Common sense but I'm not sure how much influence he has. I think Jerry, Kraft, and the LA owner( because he's the richest) call the shots.

The Davis family history. They are not afraid to call out the NFL.

Pushing it back makes some sense until you remember that we’re essentially still in the first wave (the virus SHOULD be fairly quiet right now),
2nd wave is supposed to kick off when it gets colder
(a number of schools were trying to start early so they could be done by thanksgiving if they had to close again)

Not getting the push back to November idea. Is it supposed to be better by then? Heck... 2021 season? Is it supposed to be better by then even?

so the options are...play, postpone, or cancel? Got it.

Mike Davis has three options - (1) follow the NFL propaganda; (2) contradict the NFL propaganda; (3) shut up.

Being a Davis, he chose (2).

I'm cool with that but he also needs to call out his barber.

You are worth $500 million bucks!! FIX IT!!!!!

The choices about what happens with the season at this moment are more about player pay. According to the new CBA, players need 1 game played to get their full salaries. Owners have proposed to the players a schedule and rate of pay under different scenarios. That proposal is detailed in Florio's post: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ically-cuts-player-pay-if-season-is-canceled/

The TMZ Sport article this thread is based on and Mark Davis' superficial comments have no material relevance to what's really going on. It's front and center about money, and the risk/reward by the players of playing hardball in negotiations with the owners to make the owners adhere to the new CBA. It's also very much about whether teams can get through training camp healthy and with the proposed testing regime.

Understand, the testing program by my calculations will use between 9,000 - 18,000 tests per week, depending on whether players are tested every day, or every other day. That's a lot of tests that otherwise could be used in the community.
