Michael Thomas was one of the best players in the NFL, then he disappeared from football. So what really happened to Michael Thomas? (4 Viewers)

Would have been a HOF’er imo if not for the injury and subsequent issues with that healing.

He didn’t help himself on social media either.

I have much respect for him as a player and am thankful for his contributions to the team. Dude was a monster and absolutely still produced after being paid. Not his fault he got rolled up on, nor is it his fault the surgery didn’t take.

Remember thinking he’d be a jag when we drafted him and boy was I wrong,

He may sign, he may not, but Dennis Allen made a comment that had nothing to do w/ Thomas but I think it applies

He said “this league is small, so word gets out quickly which players are a headache to work with”

I wouldn’t doubt that Thomas has found himself in that #

Yeah people’s timelines are typically messed up on Thomas. They say things like “good riddance, he got his money and quit” and it’s like nooooo, He had a record breaking season that year

The Saints need to resign him and give him a chance. He needs to be in the league. He deserves another chance if you ask me.
no thanks... team did better without him last year... the offense was confused on who was #1 receiver and his negative attitude was not helpful

It is his fault for not getting the surgery when it was recommended at the end of the season. He waited until June instead. If he had gotten it earlier then the 2nd one one could have done in June.

He definitely made some mistakes.

Didn't he also ghosted the medical staff and the team after refusing surgery so they had no idea where his recovery was late into the summer and they ended up finding out that the ankle wasn't healing properly and he eventually ended up having surgery anyways?

If Mike doesn't get picked up in a week or 2, I hope he does a candid, in-depth interview. His fans want to know what went wrong, and whether his career is over for purely physical reasons or personalities are part of the reason.

An interview can only help his career, nothing is worse for it than being out of the league forever.

One of the Best WR in Saints history, unfortunately injuries ended his domination and career. I really have a lot of respect for Michael Thomas and I wish him the best of luck.

Hold up, hold up. I recall this guy being the second coming of Satan his last 1-2 years on this board. NOW, we wanna be diplomatic and even empathetic. Next year I expect a "gosh, CJGJ was a true enforcer that the opposing team was worried the entire week before facing us" thread with lots of "amens" from the board. Ya'll funny.

We could use him now.

You just can't ignore the fact that once he got paid his decline began. He could've been an all-time great if he could have kept his ego in check.
Sorry. That simply is not true. MT13 had the greatest receiver season in NFL history after he got paid. His decline occurred only after he was injured. Between the injury, the infections, the botched surgeries, and trying to come back too soon, he was never right after that.
