I am not sure what Ross Jackson said. Let's forget for a moment on whether we think Loomis and Allen are doing a good job. From a public-relations standpoint, the press conference was a disaster. All Loomis had to say was this:
"We set high goals. I recognize that in 2023 we did not meet them. We did have a winning record. But we did not win our division or make the playoffs. I know that our fans are upset that we are not in the playoffs. Everyone in our organization is upset. But I have worked with Dennis Allen for a long time, I saw our players play hard in the final month of the season, and I believe that Dennis Allen as our head coach gives the Saints the best chance of our achieving our goals in 2024 and for that reason is the right coach to lead our team in 2024."
That is all he had to say.
And I did not hear what exactly he had to say about fans selling their tickets. But again this is all he needed to say:
"The NFL with Ticket Exchange makes it easy for season-ticket holders to sell their tickets, and often those buying tickets are fans of the visiting team. But what we saw in the Detroit game has been seen in so many NFL stadiums for a number of years. Our job is to field a team so good that fewer of our season-ticket holders will want to sell their tickets and not attend every game."
