Mickey Loomis has too many blind spots to continue as GM. (3 Viewers)

Most of us didn’t have a problem with when we had a HOF QB and Coach. There wasn’t any reason to dig that hole deeper with DA and the rest of our QBs since then. Like someone else stated, if we had started after Brees or for sure when Payton left we would be well on our way to a healthy cap situation by now.
The only move they made post Brees was the Derek Carr signing and that is not reason why we are in this situation with the Cap. Brees' contract had an impact on EVERY PLAYERS' contract and THAT is what we are dealing with.

But they restructure multiple players every year. It never ends. They never bite the bullet and self correct. My fear is they run it completely into the ground and then leave and let someone else clean up a huge multi year mess to clean up. And IMO it is out of stubbornness and ego.

One thing as fans we did not know that we have since discovered was exactly how bad Brees’s shoulder was late in his career. Would we have been as agreeable to the restructures knowing that? Idk

Then you still are not understanding what I am saying: Every player that entered into a contract with the Saints had to have their contract built around Brees' 2012 contract which he played out completely!

The final year of that contract put them on the path they are on to this day. Without the flexibility of restructuring existing contracts, we would have a revolving door of players, including several top-rated draft picks.

That is because you didn't want to see.

No, they choose to keep kicking the can down the road after Brees retired. They thought they had SB team with Taysom, Jameis and Carr.

So you knew the FULL extent of his shoulder when they did the final restructure for Brees… congrats.
