Mickey Loomis has too many blind spots to continue as GM. (1 Viewer)

Loomis has had 1 season in 20 years with less than 7 wins. The team has ALWAYS been competitive. They have been in the hunt for the playoffs EVERY year except 2005. He’s had two of the best draft classes of all time. It looks like we hit on this most recent draft class as well.

Like some others said, some of y’all just want to be angry.

We are lucky to have Loomis. He’s written into Gayle’s will. He’s not going anywhere.

Honestly just stop with the childish whining. Like little rich kids that didn’t like their Christmas present instead of appreciating how good they have it.

The Saints had an easy schedule this year and didn't make the playoffs but folks will jump up an crow that Loomis can get the team under the cap every year. If that is satisfying and the hill you want to charge then go for it. Some of us want the team to win on the field of play and it's not happening. The team is getting older and slower an these restructured contracts are partly to blame.

I think that is part of the reason for his arrogance, he knows he is safe. I am beginning to think our great run was not Brees, Payton & Loomis, just Brees and Payton with Loomis along for the ride.

Our frustration is that we see the Saints sliding back to the pre Brees/Payton eras with no visable off-ramp and that won’t be fun for anyone.

He has had 3 years without Payton if you include the BG season, and 3 without Brees and has zero playoff appearances. He struck a gold mine in 2006. He hasnt done anything right in about 5-7 years, including planning for post Brees.

Listen to any interview he has done in the last 3 years and its pretty obvious he has lost touch with both the current NFL and reality as a whole.

When Payton resigned the organization had a golden opportunity to begin a complete rebuild and start a new era of football. That was the time to clean house, hire a new coach, and start cleaning up the cap. We should be going into year 3 of that rebuild. Instead they sold the fanbase on the fact that this team could still compete for championships and decided to "keep the band" together. What we saw last year and this year is the ceiling for this coaching staff if changes aren't made. Unfortunately the people at the top won't realize it until the bottom falls out.

Loomis is NOT a good GM. He's a salary cap wizard that's managing a team - that's it. The longer he stays as the GM, the more the team, fans and city will suffer. His past results speak for itself.

Our problems start at the top. Mickey is willfully blind that DA is just not a head coach, that we have kicked the can down the road so many times in regards to our salary cap that it will take multiple years to return to cap health. And that to truly compete for a SB we need a dynamic new QB.

He has dug a huge hole that we as fans know will take many years to fix. We all know this and want that process started so we can have hope again that we will have legit shot at competing for a championship. The longer Loomis is willfully blind to this the longer it will take. As true fans we can deal with the poor football we know will come with a rebuild as long as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but Mickey only offers us mediocrity and no light going forward. And his arrogance directed toward to media and fans lately, means he just needs to go.
He’s a beta and he’s enjoying his time of peace without an alpha it seems. How do fans stop this?

That’s a strong stat. Good point

Loomis' only real failure throughout his tenure with the Saints was hiring 🤡 as HC. I do not blame him for the cap situation because it is directly related to the success of this team. I do hold him responsible for failing to see that 🤡 is incapable of being a Leader. He may be a fine defensive coach, but a leader he is not and that has been shown on gamedays. Hell, his 1st action as HC told you he was incapable of making decisions when he couldn't name a defensive coordinator.

If you're looking to hold Loomis accountable, stick to his decision to keep DA for a 3rd season and leave the Cap out of it because NONE of you had a problem with the process that generated the Cap Hell.

Most of us didn’t have a problem with when we had a HOF QB and Coach. There wasn’t any reason to dig that hole deeper with DA and the rest of our QBs since then. Like someone else stated, if we had started after Brees or for sure when Payton left we would be well on our way to a healthy cap situation by now.

Plus if Mickey’s expertise is turning salary into signing bonus and kicking the can down the road to make room for the current year, that isn’t the expertise we need now.
