When was the last time Loomis made a public comment that was insightful or even interesting? There is a notion that the Saints only trade up because of history?

I am sorry, but were I Loomis I would not be particularly proud of our 2018 draft. By my count, the Saints last year had the only fourth-round player, and one of the three or four fifth-round players, who were cut by the team that drafted them and did not land on that team's practice squad. We cut our four picks in rounds four through six last year. Check the numbers and see how few drafted players were cut. The most logical conclusion is that we drafted poorly, either because the players we picked were not very good or because the players we picked did not fit what our coaching staff was looking for.

And though the Saints were more talented than most other teams, the reason was the top two-thirds of the roster. Last year, we had limited depth in the offensive line, at running back, at tight, at wide receiver, and at cornerback.

Not Loomis: so sorry we traded all that for Davenport. He has been a real disappointment.

Pretty soon, he'll telling us that we like the wetness of water. The whole idea of a pre-draft press conference is silly. The likelihood that there will be anything of interest or anything new is as remote as the chance that the Saints will trade up to get the first pick overall in the draft. He's not going to throw a Saints player under under the bus. Only a fool would do that, and Loomis is not a fool.

Why did I expect to see something compelling when clicking into this thread? Loomis has mastered the art of "going through the motions" and "saying a lot while saying nothing" with these types of press conferences.

Loomis on moving up: We can’t because we have a can of pork n beans and some pocket lint as trade bait.

Loomis on trading back: Well, because there is such depth to this class, that’s definitely something to consider seeing as how we have no picks. But we don’t do that, because, you know, history.

Loomis on last years draft picks getting cut: We were exceptionally thin at WR, OL, and TE, so we drafted other positions and then cut them bc we didn’t draft very well.

May be a silly question, but who the heck is Zion Williamson?

Duke basketball player. He was making a joke at Loomis formerly being a manager for the Pelicans as well. It would be amazing if somehow the Pelicans could get Zion but it's a pipe dream.
