Mike McCarthy didn’t garner the interest from Saints that he anticipated and taking a year off; McCarthy backs out as a result of Moore being in lead (6 Viewers)

I sure hope Moore has his staff ready to go and makes us proud to be a saints fan. I am not sure about this guy but will pull for him.
Yep. Same could have been said for Sean. I am willing to take this chance with Kellen at this point.

Praise the Lord!!! I don’t care who it is, BUT McCarthy would have been my absolute last choice
I am with you. Well, not my last choice but I really didn’t want him. Not sure why but maybe because I watched in Dallas and was bored with him. Not to mention his playoff losses were terrible.

The writing is on the wall.

Every major reporter has come out in the last hour speaking about Moore to Saints and how he’s the front runner but he’s in the Super Bowl so nothing can be official.

Kingsberry was likely told the same earlier today and they “withdraw” to make it seem like they weren’t interested
What if withdrawing never had anything to do w/ making them look not interested and only people who believed the narrative that Saints job isn’t coveted pushed the narrative that those coaches “lost interest”

As Loomis and others have said the opportunity to coach 1 of 32 teams is a priv and no one has to “sell” themselves. It’s a two way interview but no one is begging anyone to take the job.

McCarthy didn’t fire Kellen Moore. And the offense didn’t get better. And many people don’t understand coaching searches. Maybe they can get over it in time for the season. 🤷‍♂️
The Cowgirls and Moore "mutually agreed to part ways", basically he was fired.

Moore served as the Cowboys' offensive coordinator from 2019-22, and was fired early in '23. Former head coach Mike McCarthy took over play-calling duties once Moore was let go. Since then, Moore has served as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams and for the Eagles this season.

Moore not withdrawing his name today tells me a lot
Have Kafka, Weaver and Rizzi withdrawn their names?

Sometimes searches narrow the field in increments, as opposed to narrowing down from all the candidates to just one. There is a possibility that the Saints have narrowed the field down to Kafka, Weaver, Rizzi and Moore.

If Kafka, Weaver and Rizzi withdraw their names tomorrow, that's the actual writing on the wall that there's some kind of agreement in place with Moore.

Those are probably the three most unlikely and desperate candidates for the job, so I doubt any of them ever formally withdraw.

I will say though, reading in between the lines, Kafka today sounded like a man that knew the team has moved on.

Chargers, not Rams

That makes no sense if they've been told they won't be getting the job. It's also inconsistent with the rational being used that McCarthy withdrew because he was told Moore has the job.

If McCarthy withdrew because he was told by the Saints that Moore got the job, then it follows the Saints would have told Kafka, Weaver and Rizzi the same thing and they would withdraw too.

I will say though, reading in between the lines, Kafka today sounded like a man that knew the team has moved on.
I didn't get that vibe at all from Kafka one way or the other. Reading between the lines is always driven and interpreted by bias. People always see and hear what they want to see and hear when they read between the lines.

Kafka said all of the right things in his Senior Bown interivew. Mickey knows he has a fall back plan. Kafka will take the job if he misses on Moore. Of course Rizzi would too.

Until then, the game of musical chairs continues. Only 3 chairs left with 4 candidates circling. Who withdraws next? I'd think Weaver will withdraw. I could be wrong, but he appears to be the Rooney rule candidate and they didn't want to be obvious and eliminate him too soon. I can also see Rizzi taking a STC job somewhere as the Saints know they have Kafka if they can't get Moore. That would be Rizzi's way of signaling that the Saints have made a decision and it's not him. It wouldn't surprise me if Moore and Kafka are the only two remaining candidates before a coach is announced.

Didn’t think my comment was that serious to where it needed a rebuttal, but okay. We’ll see if they withdraw, NBD. Geesh. 😂

What happens if Kellen Moore withdraws his name from consideration? Rizzi?
I think Rizzi is last on the list. I think Moore will for sure take the job, because he's at the height of his career right now. and a dip next yr could mean not getting an opportunity.

That said if something happens and he's not the guy I think it's Kafka. There are good reports coming out of the Senior Bowl on him running a crisp tight practise.
