Halfway through episode 1 and I can already tell this is gonna be one of my favorite series.

The opening scene is phenomenal.

I think this will end up being a mix of Criminal Minds and Hannibal/Silence of the Lambs. Oh yeah, by David Fincher too.

I'm halfway through episode 3. Fantastic so far. I like the characters, the writing and the acting. Plus ANNA TORV! I was pleasantly surprised by her appearance. Loved her in Fringe. She's great here.

Netflix is debuting a new psychological thriller this weekend with Mindhunter, a 10-episode drama premiering on Friday the 13th (dun dun dun), based on the true crime book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit. So, is it based on a true story? Pretty much.
The three main characters on Mindhunter are based on real people, though they aren't exact copies. The two FBI special agents from the bureau's Behavioral Science Unit are Holden Ford and Bill Tench, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, respectively. Those two men are based on John E. Douglas (who co-authored the book on which Mindhunter is based) and Robert K. Ressler.

Same here! I was debating watching episode 2.

I probably will do so due to the positive feedback posted within this thread.

It's very much worth it. I will say it improves a lot from the pilot once they get their calling and set their plan in motion. The discussions and content is so fascinating. But understand the show is mostly people sitting around talking. If you are looking for action such as high speed chases, this may not be for you.
