MLB Playoffs (1 Viewer)

What makes the Rays accomplishment impressive is that most of the team's roster aren't household names and the team's overall salary was $28,000, 000 compared to 9-figured Yankees, Red Sox, or Dodgers payrolls by comparison.
It seems like no one in baseball these days is a household name. Or maybe it's just me. It's hard to believe I'm less into baseball now than I ever was (been to maybe 3 Orioles games and went to a couple of Zephyrs games), but I used to be able to name, you know, a lot of players on many different teams. I can't explain it. If it's a Dodgers-Rays Series, I say I'll watch cos the Dodgers were dad's team ... but who am I kidding?

Anyway, it's quite a sports year in Tompa Bay.

Grandpa was a transplant from Myrtle Beach and was a huge Braves Fan.... Had all the grandsons sit with him and watch the games back in the late 70's early 80's while he would take a nap lol

So i was a Braves Fan befoe I even know what New Orleans Saints were :)

I know the Braves were facing an uphill battle against the league’s favorite team, but the choke has been unreal. Can an Atlanta team ever get a lead and keep it?

3-1 start to the series and just don’t feel good about this one...

That. Was. Brain. Dead. Baseball.

Brutal. In a game 7 with a World Series spot in the line?

Did the Braves pull another 28-3 Atlanta fiasco?

I was a Braves fan because I went to college in Atl and that's where I first started getting into MLB. I pulled for the Dodgers because of family but really got into the Braves when Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddux were doing their thing because I was in the city and really got exposed to them.

One day my CO offered tickets to a Braves game, I went. The Braves were down like 9-1 in the eighth and almost everyone left, I moved down to better seats. Lo and behold, the Braves scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game and send it into extra innings. The Braves won in like the 15th. It was great. My CO was somewhat miffed that this was the game he decided to skip out on. Lol
Similar
I was living in NY and a friend (big Braves fan) fromNC came up for his bachelor party
we went to go see Braves Mets at Shea.
Bottom of 7, Braves we’re getting pummeled and he wanted to go - I was like ‘one more at bat’ (I hate leaving games early)
Sure enough they tied it in the 8th and took the go ahead in the 9th and won
A very exciting 2 innings

That game must've been quite some time ago because Shea Stadium was shut down and demolished like 12-13 years ago and I suspect this game you and your buddy attended was back in like late 90s when Mets were actually a halfway decent team that contended for the NL East crown or a WC spot and IIRC advanced to the World Series vs. Yankees in 2000?

What's interesting to consider if you examine the roster, depth, level of talent on this year's Braves team, they did more and over-achieved much more then what most insiders, experts and writers assumed they would compared to the 90s and early 2000's Braves teams who had HOF pitchers, legendary future HOF manager, and All-Star HR hitters then what the current team has.
