I gotta admit, I find it easy to root for Sean Payton. I will always be thankful for 2009-10. And I suspect he'll make the playoffs this season, despite starting a rookie (6th QB taken in the draft) and having the most dead cap of any team in the league.

The Ditka years were coming off a Mora run with 1 division title with no playoff wins.
No disrespect to Mora, but that Ditka run was WAY worse.

Ditka inherited a 3-13 team. His last season was a 3-13 team.

Dennis Allen inherited a 9-8 team. He was fired in his last season at 2-7.

Ditka's record with the Saints was worse than Allen's, but the drop off under Allen from a winning team to 2-7 was much greater.
