i'm hoping we do not try and trade up and give away draft picks. if we stay at 28 , a lot of people suggest caleb farley. a big risk, considering the back injury.( same injury tony romo had).our defense needs so much help that it will be almost impossible to hit a home run with a defensive player at 28. so, with that said , i'm picking either terrace marshall or rashod bateman.

Here is a draft value chart for everyone. For those that are always looking to trade down, that is not a realistic option this year (only if it’s with Miami). As for trading up, a certain player or players, would have to slide close to our draft position. I’m thinking that we stay put. Being that if 5 QBs alone come off the board within the first 15 picks, then we should be in great shape for getting a quality player that we covet

The Saints are like a crack addict when it comes to trading up. I don't think they can help themselves.

Would not surprise me that if someone Payton really likes falls to around 21 that we trade up. I expect that extra #3 will be used to do so. The Colts pick at 21 and are without a 3rd this year. Maybe someone like Newsome or Farley or possibly someone like Kwity Paye.

I know we don’t see it much but I would not be surprised if we trade back. I would not call this a rebuild because we have a lot of talent but it’s been a long time since we had so many needs - reset maybe.

We have 7 picks and we need a LB, DT, CB I think we move a little to acquire a specific player on our board but with our cap and rookie pool we may no be able to afford 7 draft picks so trading those two 7th rounders to in an effort to acquire one or two payers we see as capable starters is possible.

1 1st, 1 2nd and two 3rd round picks I'm sure if we stayed put we could acquire 4 starters here alone without trading up or down.

What if one of the QBs, say Lance or Fields falls to the 12-13 range. Do you see the Saints making the big move up to get one if they really like the player? I would guess it would take something like our 1st and 3rd this year and our 1st and maybe another pick (4th or 5th) next year.

While we would hope that our staff could do that, it may be asking an awful lot to get 4 starters our of our first 4 picks. Also, trading 2 7ths will not move them up much (maybe a late 6th), and certainly not far enough to grab a capable starter unless we were really lucky (ala Colston).

Please don't trade next years 1st . We might be picking #28 this year, but, next year we might be in the 12th-18th range if things don't go our way. I'm hoping for some restraint.... yeah good luck I know.
Depends on whether they feel they could get their QB of the future. Next year's class is supposed to be very weak. Outside of that situation, I am with you 100% in not wanting to trade next year's 1st.

We have 7 picks...
We have 8 picks. But I agree we need LB, DT, & CB. I'll add WR, TE, SS, OT.
  • Round 1 Pick 28
  • Round 2 Pick 60
  • Round 3 pick 98 (compensatory)
  • Round 3 pick 105 (special compensatory)
  • Round 4 Pick 133
  • Round 6 218 (compensatory)
  • Round 7 229 (from Jacksonville)
  • Round 7 255

The way NFL rules are designed it is whole lot easier for offensive playmakers to have success during thier Rookie Year. People like Lattimore doing well in thier first season on defense is a rarity.

Next year might be the best window for a couple years gor N.O to get to the Superbowl. They might as well draft best players available that will help the Saints win this year.
