Titanic. If it is on TV, I will sometimes tune in once the ship starts sinking because of the special effects. But other than that, there is nothing special about that movie.

Forrest Gump i remember liking a lot when i saw it at the theater.. then over the next 20 or 25 yrs i thought it was corny.. now, having rewatched it in the last couple of years- i really like it again .

As a horror fan this happens a lot and it’s something I love about the genre. I try not to recommend films to people anymore because of it. It’s a great conversation starter though.

One I’ve always been pretty meh on is The Exorcist. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great movie but I didn’t see it until it was re-released in theaters in 2000 (I think). And I think 27 years of hype made the expectations unreachable for any movie.

Conversely, I love The Blair Witch Project. So, it’s very possible that I just have shirty taste.

Interstellar. I’ve tried watching it 2 or 3 times and I just don’t get the hype. I end up staring at my phone out of boredom.

Ive recently seen Chasing Amy a couple times and while it’s VERY dated, it holds up i think really well on its own merits ..it’s my favorite K Smith film, though the only other one ive seen is Clerks so that’s not saying much.. what really stands out for me is the absolute tour de force performance from Joey Lauren Adams, holy wow is she good in this movie .

Rocky Horror Picture Show. Very meh IMHO

I'll add The Sound of Music, Grease, and Les Miserables. I never understood the exaggerated hysteria that gripped my house over these movies.

I'm not a fan of musicals in general. @guidomerkinsrules is not a car fan, and I don't like musicals. It's a wonder we tolerate each other

tbc I’m not exactly a fan of the genre
But there are several I do enjoy
I’ve just been exposed to a great, great many of them as an occupational fact of life

and yes, cars are silly
