I was trying to be a bit 'tongue in cheek' with that line.
I'm sure that it is quite a difficult job and worth the $millions$ that many movie stars make for their services.
Not sure if ur being tongue in cheek with ur second sentence as well.. but as someone who, a lifetime ago in my 20s, made a living as a professional actor (and i use the term “living” very, very loosely)- i can assure you that it isnt an easy job.. IMO anytime you have to report to set at 5am or 6am, then stay there for 14, 16, sometimes 18 hours- it is indeed Work…. Is it laying asphalt in the hot sun ?? Nope, but the hours are long and it can be a grind .
But more importantly , and im not sure if the general public realizes this- but the percentage of actors who “make million dollar checks” is like a tiny, tiny freakishly low percent of the actual actor population.. like, in my lifetime ive met dozens of people who have more talent in their little finger than i possess in my entire body.. people who had crazy talent, a “good look”, connections , kept their noses clean and did everything right- yet got precisely nowhere in that business.. i say all that just to say that judging an entire profession by an infinitesimal slice that are milllionaires- is like trying to say all maids or housekeepers must be rich and famous like Martha Stewart… ok, terrible analogy, but u get the point .
