If Geno put a finger in the guys face, does that really qualify as a sucker punch? They're looking right at each other. :idunno: It sounds like he just got the first punch and knocked him out.

I guess I just think of sucker punches as coming from behind.

Yeah, just catching up and read that. Crazy. Stupid to fight in the locker room like that. Especially with the starting QB.
And thats the Big picture , you are a 6TH round Draft pick de/lb on the bubble to make it on a Nfl team , and you punch the teams staring Qb, i dont care what the Qb said or did you keep your mouth shut and walk away, until you find out if you make the team or not.

Dang. Guess our locker room issues weren't that bad afterall.

I think of a sucker punch as a surprise punch or cheap punch. If I'm in an argument with somebody and they all of a sudden cork back and punch me, I would consider that a sucker punch.

Even if you are looking at someone, they can still punch you without you expecting it or seeing it coming.

If you're sticking your finger in a grown man's face, I'd at least consider the possibility of him throwing a punch.

Suckerpunching someone in the locker room to the extent of that person being unable to work for 8 weeks is clearly criminal and not going to be protected by any of the sort of "scope of the game" protections that on-field scrums get.

Both Smith and the Jets should press charges. What a piece of work.

I guess technically if you punch a sucker...
