If you want to honor native Americans, here are the tribes that fought on America side during the revolutionary War: Oneida Tuscarora, Catawba, Lenape, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Mahican, Mi'kmaq, Abenak, Cheraw Seminole, Pee Dee, Lumbee

Well likely to your displeasure, many fans will still attend games. Likely most or more, considering how popular American football is. I don't think it's the end of the world if the name of a football team I don't even actively support has a name change. I simply don't care. But I do think they are making the right move.

I suppose many of the 'radicals' you reference are like me, passionate football fans who simply don't share your view. We think that outdated insensitive cheerleading symbols of people we've oppressed is pretty obviously not the America we are today.

This is IMO a very underrated idea/post. The Washington Windtalkers. Just change the current profile in the logo to something like this one. How can you go wrong? You keep the "theme" of the team, you honor WWII U.S. heroes, you celebrate diversity, you recognize historically oppressed minorities...
