New Orleans is the only vacant HC spot left (6 Viewers)

I have a disgusting feeling its going to be Rizzi. Mostly because of how Loomis has spoken so much about continuation. And in his presser, I didn't even remotely get the impression that he believes we need a soft rebuild. Which makes me believe he's going to press on with the continuation.

And just for clarity. His game time adjustments were awful, and so was his game management as interim head-coach. He may have been good in organizing the team every week leading up to the games and replacing bad coaches. But during game time he was nothing more then a cheer leader fumbling clock management.
Kamara seems to want him to stay, if that is our choice I'd like to keep Kubiak, would like to see him with healthy roster...if it ever happens.

It's all moot, in the week leading up to SB in NO, Tomlin finally has a falling out with the Steelers & demands his release, NO offers stupid money and Tomlin comes to the Big Easy (perfecr fit HC & city), MT is promised a retool period & has TH7, Haener, & Rattler to work with this year (DC to NYG for picks next year), Tomlin is promised we will move up and get Arch in 2026 because he wants to play for his grandpa's team, stay close to home, & have his grandpa there for all home games, so Tomlin will finally get a quality QB he has been wanting Pitt to draft for yrs...

Everyone's happy, Tomlin is king of the town, and ppl start calling Arch "Big A" & they revamp the culture with a few SBs & create another dynasty, here... in the Big Easy!

If you're gonna dream, go big!
🤣

That is my dream scenario, Who Dat!

That's just an excuse, I don't see how that can stop a team from hiring a coach or a coach accepting an offer
Well... it has something to do with the Rooney rule which had to be completed before you can offer someone a contract. Those guys were initially scheduled during the time that that snow event happened, so you can't just skip that process. They just finished today.

yup which i’m happy about. take our time and pick the best young guy to change it up. but keep kubs

It’s starting to look like the Saints can’t give this job away. :covri:

Last to hire = Least desire

Vrable and Carroll are solid hires. Johnson and Coen are very good OCs who could be the next hot HC. Glenn is a former player who I’m mixed on.
I disagree, I won't say that we have the most desirable situation, but there are lots of factors involved. Vrable went to the team he had success with as player , and for me I'll take McCarthy over him, especially since McDaniels is going his OC and he does not have Brady @ QB.
Glenn went to the team that drafted him and was probably his 1st choice all along. I like Glenn but he's going to have to get a great OC and he has Rodgers to deal with and no QB after that.

Carroll is in his 70's and the Raiders are the only ones that would take him.
Yes Johnson was the hot name but he was talked about as wanting the Bears job last yr
Coen was in my top 5 but was never coming here due to how he handled our OC search last yr

IMHO, ML was waiting to see what happened with McCarthy. In the meantime, he scheduled interviews with candidates that would be fits here.

When MM became available he went to the front of the pack. ML is still doing his due diligence and seeing if someone wows them. I think Brady pulled out because he didn't get a 2nd interview from the Bears or JAX and if he got passed over by us it would look bad for him. And just maybe he learned his lesson moving up too fast like he did from LSU to Car

We'll also be the last team to build a staff of assistant coaches. Even the Bucs who lost their OC yesterday is ahead of us in the OC search.
If it's McCarthy he probably already has contacted the guys he wants. And McCarthy can keep Kubiak and the whole offensive staff as far as I'm concerned.

Carroll was always a good coach. He didn't exactly get a fair shake his last couple of years in Seattle. Wilson couldn't run his system anymore (similar to how Wilson couldn't run Paytons), and Carroll took up Smith as a place holder while he searched. They removed Carroll and nothing in Seattle has changed. Their still semi-competitive, looking for a franchise QB trying to replace serviceable players with younger talent.

The one mistake Carroll made was letting his roster age and taking action a bit too late. But they were also competing for a superbowl in that duration... similar to how Loomis acted like we were constantly 1 player away for several years.
It was Waldron that brought on the Smith resurgence. After the job he did with Smith he was getting HC feelers. Then he goes to Chi and was a scapegoat for Eberflus. Waldron is a good OC but is better with a vet QB. He's from the McVay tree

Less than a week to the Senior bowl and assistants taking jobs everywhere else. They need to get off their arses and make a hire.
