NFL gave Vilma a sworn affidavit from Gregg Williams stating Vilma offered $10k to knock out Favre (1 Viewer)

When did Williams go backpacking in Thailand? I am assuming before September 14th, 2012.

I hope everyone on this forum starts to change their opinion of Gregg Williams now. Whether or not this is true, this shows what a gutless coward he is. My guess is he quickly sold out Payton too to try to save his job. Even if Gregg just signed whatever the NFL put in front of him, he stabbed our head coach in the back and the players who trusted him. Gregg put us in this position with his stupid bs macho speak with his cart off language. He's also left us with a defense with no fundamentals.

How much do you also want to bet that Jeff Fischer is behind this as well. I always thought it was suspicious that Fischer brought Gregg in as a dc. Fischer had just spent the previous year as the NFL's advisor to the refs (same year that we were constantly being hit with bs roughing flags). Fischer was Buddy Ryan's disciple who probably perfected this pay for performance system. League probably leaned on Fiscsher to lure Gregg away from the Saints and get Gregg to talk.

Jeff Duncan is already all over it...

@JeffDuncanTP
I guess that would qualify as "evidence."

Most amazing aspect of Gregg Williams affidavit -- he signed it on Friday, September 14, 2012.

Perhaps Duncan can tell me where the NFL hides the time machine they used to include this as evidence in the first round of suspensions.

According the the article, Williams was in Thailand as of a month ago and that he planned on going to a military-style boot camp afterward and then onto Africa. When did he have the time to sign this 3 days ago?

There is the affadavit, and yes, it was made on Sept. 14, so no way was it relied on in determining the punishment.

So now the question is what, if anything, did Goodell promise Williams in exchange for the affidavit?

Offering this thing makes Goodell's case even more shaky, not less.

so, the document that Goodell is using to prove his case against Vilma also refutes all his other allegations about the Saints bounty pool. has he stepped in it now?

That's why he didn't reveal it until now. The affadavit infers that Goodell has been lying about pay for injure all along. His star witness refutes pay to injure.

And the pages of evidence that allegedly existed BEFORE September 14th? You couldn't rely on that, Roger?

Seriously, the NFL is one corrupt organization.

GW just demonstrated how to throw credibility out of the window. Gutless move there if true.
