Carr is not the best QB and neither is Rattler. Not much to choose from.

If Carr stays with the Saints, then I hope those in the organization who want to move on from Carr will be professional and get fully behind Carr. The same if they end up going with a different QB that some others in the organization don't want.So apparently the Saints/Moore have met with Carr and it went well. It points to him likely staying but I also know that there are people who want to move on.
I concurThe thing with Nick is that I think he is very dialed in with agents, players, assistant coaches, and some Superdome Commission members, but I don't think he really has much in the way of front office connections. Nobody really does because they are notoriously tight lipped and only let out what they want to let out.
So if it's information that would only be known by people in the front office, he often times doesn't have the sources to know exactly what is going on. It's likely why he though McCarthy was under serious consideration. He was likely getting that from McCarthy's agent.
But he's usually good about saying when he thinks something based on sources or if he's just reading the situation and giving an opinion. It's the a later regarding Carr.
He's not the worst QB to have under center, the whole discussion of his status on the roster is fit not ability. As of now .. Yes. But anything can change from now till the draft.
I think best case scenario was him staying, makes no sense to pay a guy to play for another team. I'd like to see he and Rattler compete though but for now we'll have to settle w/ him being the unquestioned #2 going into the off-season. At the very least, because he isn't Kellen Moore's chosen QB he won't have an excessively lengthy leash either. So apparently the Saints/Moore have met with Carr and it went well. It points to him likely staying but I also know that there are people who want to move on.
Football decision. Carr doesn't stay if Moore doesn't want him to stay.Business decision and Moore gets the he wasn't my guy excuse for the first year.

I have been the biggest defender of Carr for the unnecessary hate he received from fans, especially in this forum. But I am all for what's best for the team going forward. He's not the worst QB to have under center, the whole discussion of his status on the roster is fit not ability.
He is not taking a cutIf Carr stays, hopefully that contract stuff to work on is a pay cut for Carr.
And if he happens to play really well this year, he won't be cut next year unless they have someone who's as good or better on the roster to replace him.He is not taking a cut
