N/S Now That Payton Is Taken, The Next Rumored Cowboys Coach Is…. (1 Viewer)

It’s more of how explosive Prime’s team looked and beating a CFP runnerup/former top 5 team in game 1 when most doubted. An efficient, 300+ yard passer with 4 legit playmakers as receivers can win games against anyone. Team’s trajectory only climbs higher from there.

Media will start linking prime to a lot of major jobs as his good start increases. I can see 3-0 going into Oregon game. Hype will be crazier if he pulls off wins over Oregon and USC in the next 3 weeks. A win and a close L in those matchups is still solid based on preseason expectations.

Let me see them vs Alabama or Georgia

I came here expecting to see Dennis Allen's name...

said it on the NCAA board.

Some guys are just PERFECT college coaches - Harbaugh, Saban...add Prime. The young men they coach all aspire to his level.

Many NFL players have already attained that level. So unless you have some real gravitas in the NFL, it wont work the same.

I wanted Harbaugh badly when Payton left. Harbaugh had issues but he's proven and wildly successfully in the NFL within a short time

The problem with Harbaugh is that his tenures are short term.

Prime Time is an excellent motivator of young, college men, no doubt. Will it work in the pros, I don't know.
I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to motivate guys in their 20’s.

If the money is the same. People aren't going to take less to play for him.
Correct. They aren’t just going to go to Dallas to play for Sanders. In college that is the case all day long, but definitely no chance in the NFL that that takes place.

Open the thread hoping you says Dennis Allen. Disappointed.

As a CU alumni (did my undergrad there) I’ve known that our time with Coach Prime is fleeting. If he’s there for 3-4 years I’ll be ecstatic. But we all know this is just temporary. Just trying to enjoy it while I can.

Actually, I think he may stay longer.
NIL is gonna even the playing field along with the 12 team playoff.
You’re not gonna have to jump to a “name brand” to get a spot.

I hope you’re right. I mean look how he made Jackson State cool. Now he’s making the Buffs relevant again. Since they’re a P5 school I can certainly hope that the influence he brings with him can keep him around a while. If he can make CU good then there’s no reason he can’t accomplish at CU what he could accomplish anywhere in the college scene. I’m positive NFL teams will come calling every year though (especially Jerry lol).
