Ohhh Hyundai...you are killin me. (3 Viewers)

I got a Hyundai Sonata as a loaner car when my 2018 Mazda 3 was in for warranty work. Prior to this experience I had considered a Hyundai as my next car. Both the Mazda 3 Touring and the Hyundai are 4-door sedans similar in price but that's where the similarity ends. The Mazda suspension feels tight and the powertrain is quiet and smooth. Consumer reports gave the Mazda high marks for punching above it's weight. The Bose sound system is excellent.

The Hyundai by comparison was like driving a tin can. The powertrain was raspy, the suspension loose, the seats offered poor support, and the sound system was tinny. Again, the trim level of the Sonata was supposedly roughly equal to that of the Mazda 3 Touring.

I crossed the Hyundai off the list.

Think I am about to get a Mazda CX-5. Considering how they are reviewed and how reliable they are, I am surprised that they don't rank higher in the US for sales

My daughter bought a used 2019 in like mid-late 2020. Got a good deal for it right before the prices started to go through the roof. White Elantra. I haven't really paid close attention to it, but no issues with the paint...yet. Knock on wood, haven't had any issues with the car.

Now that I've jinxed myself, we'll see what's next. Heh.
My daughter has a 2017 white Elantra she bought in 2019 and she had to have the paint redone on the hood and roof a couple of years ago. Hyundai covered it, though. Other than that, it's been a really good car for her.

Ive got a 16 kia soul that burns roughly 4-5 quarts between 3000 mile oil changes. Dealer told me to kick rocks unless it blows up. As long as its running, they have no intrest in doing anything about it.

I also had a Nissan Murano as a rental vehicle while the dent magnet (my only complaint, it's been hit 3 times in 2 years) Mazda was in the body shop. the Murano was OK but didn't have Sirius XM. I will say, the Nissan 3.5 litre V-6 is a real gem of an engine. Quiet and powerful.

I did use it to haul 4x4's, 2x4's, and pickets to build a fence though, which I could not do with the Mazda

I have to assume so but as of now, they will not answer that question. The case manager has my paid invoice for the work (plus I have in file ) so they cannot say I didn't pay/have work done etc.

And per my conversation with him yesterday, it certainly didn't sound like they were going to do anything. He was adamant that 3 years (or 36k miles ) was their red line and wasn't going to change.

I'm still holding out hope that they will agree to even 50% cost because I had no idea how much it cost to get hood and roof painted.

Shoot I was looking around for a Fact O Bake lol. But none near me. ( I think one in Baton Rouge but that's too far/inconvenient)

So after some internet research, i saw where Hyundai will sometimes pay based on "Goodwill"

So i had reached out to my Case Manager Wed who said he would get back with me Thursday.

Well, today is Friday and he not taking calls or returning emails.

Ill keep being the "squeaky wheel" til i get a firm no or something from them.

What engine is in that? Might be worth your time to do some reading and research and see what your options are.

My G70 has a 15 speaker Lexicon system that sounds fantastic. The only area that it was lacking in was bass, so I had a 12" sub installed with the help of @ktulu909 (great dude btw), and that was the chef's kiss. I do know that the new G90's come with Bang & Olufsen systems, so I imagine they are also quality...

Possibly the low sales are due to the CX50 they put out. I have a 2016 mazda 6
and they have discontinued those. We replaced an uncomfortable pickup last year and went to mazda first, we both loved the look of the 50 over the 5, but embarrassingly I am too short to see around the hood, even the salesman agreed. I don't think there is a difference in the engine. I wonder if they are going to faze out the 5. We went with a 24 honda crv, very comfortable but I liked the look of the 50 better.

My 2022 G80 has amazing bass. Pleasantly surprised at the sound in this car. And from what I can tell, the woofer is center behind dash
