Ohio State vs. Clemson (1 Viewer)

Clemson definitely had breaks in this game. Ohio State would have won had that clear fumble not been overturned. Also, the phantom pass interference that led to one of Clemson's TDs also changed the outcome. Then, Ohio State made some serious errors, especially running into the kicker and a lot of poor tackling. Still, without those bad calls, Clemson would not have won the game.

There was no scoop and score. It was obviously an incomplete pass. I knew it from the moment I saw it, and the only reason I can think of that Herbie kept saying it was a catch is b/c his homerism was showing through. OSU was not robbed. They should have won the game but blew it by not being able to score in the red zone in the first half and stupid mistakes like targeting, roughing the punter, and then the miscommunication on the INT that ended the game. Clemson is good, but LSU will not make the same kind of mistakes. We are going to push their defense all over the field in the Dome. Book it.

Of you slow it down, almost every non-catch looks like a catch. At best it was a judgement call that could go either way. Just one of those things that sucks for someone and is a good bounce for someone else. I'd probably be mad about it if it was LSU getting the short end of the call.

That's not why tOSU lost the game, though. They lost because they're not that good of a team. Any (non-tOSU fan) who watched them could see they had some major flaws that were hidden against the soft and/or one-dimensional teams they played. People kept building them up and eventually the players believed it, too.

Simple question. Had he not had the ball poked out, and instead simply lost it, would that have been ruled catch? I ask because you have the issue of forward progress involved.

I really dont care since I was rooting for Clemson to dispatch tOSU.

Venables will come up with some unorthodox looks and blitz packages. None of which will undo Burrow and make him look human. It was touched on in one pregame, his ability to process info is way up there. His ability to execute this offense is way up there. They talked this am how Venables will take away hot reads with blitz. That's assuming he knows the hot read. He will be guessing. And guessing as a DC is a death knell.

They can't play man to man with our weapons. That means zone. Ouch. The only thing they can do is time of possession. And Lawrence isn't Plumlee (speed) and Aranda ain't letting that happen again.

No team in college football can cover Chase
and Marshall
and Jefferson
and Moss
and CEH
who are all on the field at once. As soon as Burrow woke up today, he started studying Clemson's defense. By the time the game kicks off, he will know which of those weapons will get the ball at the snap of each play. Venables is not going to fool Burrow for 60 minutes. Clemson does not have the talent on the D-Line to rush 3 and drop 8 and get pressure. Unless LSU implodes offensively, they will score often.

Lawrence does have two elite WRs and an elite RB. He is very good himself, but he is not yet elite. He has not shown himself capable of carrying this team yet. His success has been dependant upon a very talented roster. He has been caught making bad reads many times this year against defenses far less capable than LSU.

This is LSUs game to lose.
