Olympics Paris 2024 (2 Viewers)

Edited: Noah's Oblique may be in trouble.

Rahm pulled a van De Velde.
People may not equate this debacle the same as van De Velde’s collapse, but I guarantee that he personally is feeling like it was a van De Velde moment at the worst possible time.

That Australian high jumper Nicole Olyslagers turns sideways and disappears. Man, she is skinny!

That one is gonna be a scorcher. I'm ready!
All 3 of our guys made the final. I'd love to call for a sweep; but, at this point, we could easily be the one getting swept.

What is the meaning of repechage?

second chance

It's called the repechage — pronounced rep-eh-shazh –— and it loosely translates in French to “to fish out” or “second chance." Track athletes competing in the following events now get an extra round –— if they need it — to reach their event's semifinals: men's and women's 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and hurdles events.

Thanks, I was wondering what it meant. They were saying it was a second chance race, so the name makes sense.

I had to look it up and show it to my husband cos he kept calling it "rickershaw" (but who am I kidding, he still won't pronounce it right). Only time I had ever heard the term used before was in sailing so I was surprised to hear it used here.

These 800 m women’s runs are pretty interesting, you've got a current champion (2023 I think) and another second fastest in the world this year and neither of them advanced to the final. Crazy.
