I can’t think of another event where the venue/equipment is a barrier to athleticism- the sand is a hindrance to their athleticism
It would be like at the height of Bo Derek fandom, the Olympics decided to have a 50m race in calf deep water. It might be a lovely spectacle, and it has the trappings of competition bc the fastest will win, but I imagine most would watch for 10/Rocky 3 reasons
