Is this true? Are we really inching closer to getting the man out?

The next labor negotiations will be the breaking point for Goodell.
If anything happens like a cancelled season or replacement players, he is gone.

I wish he'd have linked the Denver Post story in the tweet so I don't have to go read his article to see if it's there. It isn't just laziness, I'm just not a big fan of his.

ETA: Here's the link to the Denver Post story from a year and a half ago: https://boston.cbslocal.com/2017/10...ones-unhappy-with-roger-goodell-commissioner/ which is actually CBS Boston. This and his claim that faceguarding was a missed call as well on the kill shot against TLL are the reasons I'm not a fan of his. He doesn't accurately source things and doesn't research to make sure he's got his story right before posting it.

I have no doubt some owners would want him out ASAP.

He does reference it in the bottom of the piece, which is really just a Buzzfeed style recap of other people's stories and tweets.

I am to the point that I’m really hoping one of these teams gets screwed by a call/non call late in the game that costs them the title. Doesn’t matter which one, even if it’s the Pats. I’m to the point I’m willing to risk being okay with LA winning this (for that reason only) for the betterment of my future football enjoyment and having this “man” out of office. I refuse to believe he can survive putting two huge black eyes on the league around their pinnacle yearly event.

Fingers crossed.

Thirteen months ago, he signed a huge five-year contract extension. I doubt that a number of owners are in favor of removing him because (a) they are making too much money, (b) they probably can't agree on a replacement, and (c) Goodell is much more the face and representative of the owners than any other NFL commissioner in the last half century.

The owners don't care about a playoff non-call. They do care about the upcoming labor negotiations. Goodell has become toxic with many players. If the players' distrust of Goodell becomes the reason that the owners can't get a new CBA, then Goodell starts looking like a liability to owners. But until then, forget about it.

Yeah, that's where I copied the link from to find out that it was not a Denver Post story in the first place. I'll bet they were like "What the hell is this guy talking about? Did we write this story? Someone, hurry and pull up the whole sports section archive over the past two years!"

But this Super Bowl making less then the 10 previous Super Bowls is a good way to get the ball rolling. Hitting the NFL in their pocketbook is the only way to send a message
